 Linna....hmmm good question. She's never been one of my favorites...and
that's the peril of an under-developed character....but has a light side
and practical side. I unfortunately can't quite get away from the little
voice inside Linna's head (one which is never heard conciously remember) 
which may be saying "what's in it for me?"
 Hopefully I'm wrong.

You may be forgetting one small but actually very important element:
friendship. From what I've seen, the individual Sabers may have their
differences from time to time, but they're *friends* as well as comrades
in arms. (The difference, for example, between a two-on-two game of
Survival Shot purely for training purposes, and a game of Survival Shot
with dinner riding on the outcome. ;)

Pops Raven : A deep respect but possibly she might fear that she might be
slipping over the deep end (sort of Priss in reverse)

My hunch is that if Sylia didn't open up to her brother or one of the
other (full) Knight Sabers, she'd talk to Dr. Raven - whom she has
probably known at least since her father died, if not before then. (It's
never stated in the anime but I think Raven might have helped construct
the hardsuits; he's certainly helped with the motoroids - see "Revenge
Road," OAV 4.)
And if Raven *did* help with the hardsuits, then maybe he'll already know
what Sylia is talking about when she talks to him about this . . . 

Mackie was also a possibility, but only if there was someone else present
as well.

Here's a really strange suggestion.....and blame it on leaving TMN on

 I mean her just talking to a re-assuring voice on the other end of the
phone. Someone who is making no judgements about her (as long as she does
not talk about the 'Sabers  she would be fine.) If it was Genom run it
would be interesting...

Not likely. Not for what I was thinking of - remember we *are* talking
about the origin of the hardsuit designs.

 Bloody creepy if it was a "chat line " and she was talking to Maison.

*That* could be an interesting fic idea all by itself. I'm not going to
try it, though . . . any takers?

 What If it was an AI which began to "evolve" as it got more information
about feelings...another idea. 

Doggone it, man, I have enough ideas stacked up already. Any takers on
this one? This wouldn't even have to be BGC, it could be any cyberpunk or
appropriate sci-fi setting - or it could be in BGC (or ADP) but not
involved the Knight Sabers until something got way out of hand.

(Why did I just think of Macross Plus?)
