Stupid Eudora! Stupid Emailer! Stupid Macintosh Mailers! Why must they
always screw over my life!

*yawn* yeah, sure, blame it on the computer...

Yes, I do believe I sent the same message twice to the FFML. (The Hitomi
one.) AUGHS! Why did I send it twice. Well, it did not mean too.
Apparently, while sending the it the first time, my mac crashed. (Oh, isn't
that a surprise.)

My Mac hasn't crashed in months. I crash PCs frequently. I've even managed
to crash UNIX machines and OpenVMS VAXen. It all boils down to proper care
of your computer.

'sending queued messages.' Realization struck me like a 10-ton Mack-Truck!
It was sending my message AGAIN! But by the time I hit cancel, it was too
late. The message was already on it's way to fanfic.com.

You were expecting no problems _right after a crash_?!?! On any computer, a
freshly crashed computer will need some special procedures to completely
clean up, especially on actions that it was doing at the time of the crash.

Any well-designed program/operating system will trash important data only
after it's completely through with it. The reason why is that recovery of
that data is possible should something go wrong during operation. That
means that Eudora will mark queued messages sent only after it's verified
that it actually was sent. What I suspect happened was that the computer
crashed after the message was actually sent, but before it could verify the
fact.

If it crashed during sending a message, then chances are that something
wierd will happen when you send again, and your settings are such that
checking mail is also an implicit command to send mail, too. The computer
doesn't know better. Eudora didn't know that the message was already sent;
the mac crashed before it could record the fact.

Remember what the Doctor says, "Computers are essentially very
sophisticated idiots."
