Twister's message didn't come as a total surprise, more as a
twenty-twenty hindsight twinge. I can confirm most of what Twister says,
Chris's physical appearance, her "protectiveness" of Hitomi, her stories
of Hitomi's cooking (Akane and C-ko were out of the running). I was
aware of at least one money-making scheme, and had doubts about it. But
I did not believe and do not believe she was scamming us. I think she
was trying to find a project that would actually work. Perhaps dreaming.
Twister is correct in his assessment that Chris is a very smooth
talker (handles words *beautifully*, doesn't she?) and that where fact
and fiction meshed is a complex place.
I'm glad I got to meet Chris, talk to her and even munch a few of
her coffee beans. I'm glad I got to tell her how much I enjoyed Hitomi's
stories. I hope she may be lurking and will relent and finish some of
her marvelous stories.
