The fics. It appears there is no chance they will be finished now.
Suggestions, anyone? Some of those stories beg to be finished.
Suggestions... Hmm... Well, I think Leifker and her other co-authors
have the right to continue the projects they had started with Hitomi,
but we have _no_ right to give her other works (as much as I'd want to
see 'Alternate History of Ranma 1/2' continued...) to other authors.
Agreed.
Now, a little about one other thing that this revelation of Hitomi's
true nature has caused, people sending posts where they basically say:
'I'm me and not somebody else.' Why are you people doing this? I see
no reason not to use a pseudonym or an alias on this list. I know I
would have stayed 'The Martian' if my mail addy hadn't been a dead
give-away. (but then, can you be sure it's my real name? ^_^)
In my case, I chose to stop using my pseudonym because I would prefer to
be me. "Stormwalker" was becoming something else . . . something
different. As I write from the soul, and bare a great deal of myself in
my works (if you know how to look), I would prefer to write under my own
name.
I am Douglas Alra Reeves, and I need be nothing else. There is no mask,
no persona (at least, not anymore). I can imagine that those who met me
at both A-kon and Otakon will attest to differences. The mask came off
between those two gatherings. Stormwalker attended A-kon. I attended
Otakon.
Identity is a fragile thing, and I dropped the pseudonym to protect
mine. I do not object to the pseudonyms of others, though you'll find I
won't often trust a person I have not met. Not anymore.
Then again, its a completely different thing if you use a pseudonym to
do something dubious(I think that's the right word).
perhaps unscrupulous? or dishonorable?
