The fics. It appears there is no chance they will be finished now.
Suggestions, anyone? Some of those stories beg to be finished.

Suggestions... Hmm... Well, I think Leifker and her other co-authors have the
right to continue the projects they had started with Hitomi, but we have
_no_ right to give her other works (as much as I'd want to see 'Alternate
History
of Ranma 1/2' continued...) to other authors. In my opinion the only situation
where somebody's work can be given to another author (and how to choose who?)
is when the orginal author is dead. And that is only when there is
_positive_ proof
that the orginal author is dead.

Now, while for all intents and purposes the pseudonym 'Hitomi Ichinohei' is
very probably dead, the person behind that mask is still alive, and, in my
opinion, we have absolutely no right to steal his/her work and give it to
somebody
else to continue.

That is my opinion at least.

Taking over her work and insisting that our endings are canon for them is
wrong.

But there is one very easy way to solve this problem:

Write a fanfic. That is, a fanfic of a fanfic.

Instead of "This is based on Takahashi's series", start with "This is based
on Ichinoei's series based on Takahashi's series". And you're all set. I'm
not sure how asking permission goes with fanfics as opposed to copyrighted
works. "Morganfield" asked my permission before writing "Circles" (an
uncompleted fanfic of "Childhood's End") and putting it on his web page, but
it wouldn't have bothered me if he didn't.

Since no one claims that, say, Kun-chan's stories are canon continuations of
Rumiko's series, we probably won't have that problem with, say, Bert writing
continuations of Hitomi's series.

Now, a little about one other thing that this revelation of Hitomi's true
nature
has caused, people sending posts where they basically say: 'I'm me and not
somebody else.' Why are you people doing this? I see no reason not to use

Well, I switched aliases and just realized it might not be clear that both
Lizsues are the same girl, especially since "Polyandry" is so different from
both "Childhood's End" and "Veritas".

a pseudonym or an alias on this list. I know I would have stayed 'The Martian'
if my mail addy hadn't been a dead give-away. (but then, can you be sure it's
my real name? ^_^)

Then again, its a completely different thing if you use a pseudonym to do
something dubious(I think that's the right word).
