Ranma's OOCness can possibly be explained, maybe he's hidden that feeling
from her for quote a while and it's just surfaced. Or not, that's just my
auusmption.
Akane seems alot more...what's the word I'm looking for...agressive. Her
OOCness may be explained for the same reason as Ranma. Just keeping it hidden
or something like that. 

The thing is, I think this is a sequel to the story "The Masks We Must
Wear", which is one of the best of my favorite fic genre -- the "secret
under the canon's surface".  There's one throwaway line about how Genma
fooled Ranma -- "Me, not Baka" more or less is the quote, which definitely
references "Masks" -- how, I won't tell you in case it's a spoiler for
you.  Anyway, the apparent OOC-ness of both Ranma and Akane is in fact
consistency with what is revealed in the earlier story.

Give that man a seeegaaarrrrr!!! Yes. And I suppose I should have reposted
"Masks" along with this prologue.  I will do that now. I was wondering if
anyone would remember. It's been a long time after all.  You have called the
Genre real well, too.  That's why this is set after the end of the canon
continuity.  Can't make changes in canon in this sort of story, you see. And
I want this to go in new directions. Maybe some people will grow up a
little, and that's _definately_ OOC for Ranma, et al. *grin*
