This thread is starting to vaguely drift into spam-area, but it is at
least nominally on-topic, since it's about what sort of stories actually
get read on this list.  Tybalt, if this starts to get out of hand, let us
know and those interested could take it to private e-mail.

Truthfully, I think Thieves & Kings is well done enough that M'Oak should
earn a 'manga' classification for it.  He also has noted many times that
T&K is directly influenced by Miyazaki's work.  Yeah, T&K has more
narration than dialog in some areas, but it makes it feel like reading a
fairy tale or listening to someone tell a story.

What makes 'Original' stories be worthy of a 'manga' or 'anime' flavor
classification?  I don't know - that's really a matter of opinion.  But I
think T&K falls into that realm, and not just because of the art style.
Maybe it's because I can picture a manga using the narrative tone and
style M'Oak uses, but I can't picture an American comic (yeah, yeah, so
T&K is Canadian, but still) doing the same.

It's like I'd like to -think- 'Campus Chaos' fell into the 'anime/manga'
flavor category.  Granted, a sort of twisted one (a friend described it as
'Aa! My Goddess meets Kimagure Orange Road and goes to college.  Only not
quite.'), but I may be wrong on that since, as I said, it didn't get a
very noticable reception on the list. :/
