POST!!!!
 Some of us are valiantly swimming in tides of writing....and the problem
is that you can only read so much, write so much and write only so many
quick reviews and opinions....and still have a "normal" (and with me I'd
use that term loosly.....) 
 Oh...a quick question for physyologists.....
 If the electrical resistance of muscle and nerve tissue increases
proportionally to the length or height of a suject (more current to
stimulate long muscles and nerves in a tall persons leg) then what is the
reason a shorter person might have to have twice the voltage as all of
these people...say 450 mill-amps at 240 volts????
 The said individual is also one of those people who are able to harness
97-100 % of a muscle group about 30-45% of the time rather than the high
rated 25.......???
 Whayt causes that? 
 Also how can one concentrate on relaxation and actually have it occur?
 eg: awareness of the whole operation to me logically should make a person
tense up...Like the "don't think of the blue polar bear" mechanism....
 I don't get it.

  

Bite the bullet and figure out a logical way to include something from
anime in your story.  Sort of what I did with my original story, Ari.  I
put it in the world of Vampire Princess Miyu and made Miyu and Larva
participants in the story (well, observers at this point).  That gives
enough of a hook to get people interested and perhaps keep them interested.

I didn't need any VPM in this story to appreciate it....
 oops...I didn't however write this anywhere before now making myself part
of the problem.
 

My primary turn off for original stories usually happens the second I see a
bunch of American/non-Japanese names.  This usually signifies (very much
IMO) a story that has very little anime feel to it (and could be the plot
for an American comic book, science fiction novel or movie - ouch, I guess
that is almost an insult - apologies).  When the names are all Jack Smith,
Linda Carter and Ken Masters, and they get together to hangout and drive
the Mustang to the Sockhop at their LA high school, it's really, really,
really hard to think of it as "anime/manga-flavor writing". ^ ^

All of a sudden I'm reminded of Ninja HighSchool...
but also of the indie comic Shades of Grey which is sort of an "hororary
Anime/Manga" sort of story in comic form....So is "Thieves and Kings." and
in another way it's not.

Not to say that original anime stories are bad (I think mine is okay :),
but when trying to keep up with just the Ranma-related ones has me reading
20+ story posts a day, deleting a few original, UY, SM or BGC stories is a
major relief.  On the hand, I read all AMG and MB fanfics, but tend to
delete MI.  I guess its just a matter of personal taste, really.

I'dd have to side  witrh the above... sort-of  
 However I'm more likely to delete a few UY stories....I've read quite a
few and like them so it begins to act as more looking for a particulair
author which I will keep always, some which I read and then make the
decision " Do I like this?" and "If I don't like this particulair story
/universe will I read another from a differing view by the same author?"
Usually I answer "yes" to this and try another...that's when I decide
whether I'll keep reading that particuliar author. I will still
occasionallly at least "dip into" the first paragraph or so of a writer
I've decided I really don't think I care for (or unfortunately simply
don't have the time for wiith the rest) just to see if there is something
which will catch my attention.  Unfortunately I do admit I will avoid some
DBZ stories and a few others set inexisting storylines whicxh I am totally
unfamiliar. I may even then read them just because the person writing it
is sombody I like to read.

 Well I've bloated this up haven't I ???
 I'm off to finish printing "An Akane to forget" (Which  I like so
far....actually I  doubt I will stop liking it.) I have all but the last 5
pages (I'm using eccopad so 1 page actually is 2) but my ribon suffered a
heat related melt-down....
