Actually, I *prefer* that people cc me when responding publically to one
of my posts, and I usually do the same in my replies. A direct reply is
almost always faster (sometimes by a day or two) than than one sent to
the list, can usually avoid the message monsters that have a distressing
tendency to eat messages from the list, and are a useful backup in the
event that the list goes down.
