Then theres always the second season of tenchi. i don't know what happened
with Crash (other than acording to most people i shouldn't watch it =) but
when the entire staff that was doing a show moves on to another projet,
leaving the second season to be picked up by people who are all
certifiable or have been experimenting with their chemistry sets, then you
probably have some justification for discounting the episodes in question.

okay, so maybe i'm exagerating a little, but still, i think there's
something seriously wrong with second season tenchi from what i've seen of
it so far =)

	Sigh, in the second series, I'm afraid the new crew lost sight of the
winning formula that had made the first series so incredible. Most of
them still had heads swimming over the reaction to episode 7 and the
Mihoshi Special and the idea to make more fluff and less story reared
it's ugly, misshapen head. In the first series, there was a definete
rythmn, character development and plot intertwined with comedy till the
MAJOR came into play. There was a breif pause for a breather (epsiode 4)
and then all hell broke loose. BUt we had been given insight into all
the characters, had learned to love them, had seen tehm both as Cosmic
goddesses and a unsure teeanagers in love. When the fighting started, we
cared who lived and who died.

	The second series tossed most of the character interaction (not
counting 9 & 10 which were actually not bad pieces of work if a little
on the exteranous side) and went for straight comedy. They seemed to
loose the maginicent background that had been established and moved the
characters about, like sterotyped chessmen, exactly no further and in no
direction then they were ever "supposed" to go. There were some good
ideas, Washu' past, Tokimi... and a LOT of bad ones, Dr. Clayton, the
Mass, that fop I can't rememver the name of, the Jurian Emperor. 

	All in all, I have to say that the BEST Tenchi is the first series, bar
none. I still get a little chocked up at episode 6. If you have the
unfortunate fate to fall in love with one of the girls in the series
(Hurrah! Hurrah! Ryooooooo- KO!) then you are trapped into watching
EVERYTHING they put out, though buck up, they DO sometimes get their act
together and you'll find yourself remebering WHY you become a salivating
Otaku at the mention of Heaven and Earth.
