Richard Lawson, in a different post, said something about 'what is canon'?
and then mentioned that Zen and Blade, in particular, 'ignore' the last
few issues of the manga (I'm assuming probably the last story arc
involving Safron and the Akaneniichuan). And, IMHO, -that- is
irresponsible. Those events canonically -did- happen or -will- happen,
depending on your place in the timeline, and you can always, of course,
rewrite that little section of history, but assuming it plain 'doesn't
exist' doesn't work for me. Especially in (IMHO) Blade's overfanaticism
about Tarou.
You can write it all....you can also re-write it all. I see no reason to
impose any sort of rules upon the characters that I would not impose on
my self.
I mean....sometimes events have not happened and never will. (and the
author should feel no need to go into a long exposition of why not....they
simply don't. Oh, I admit it's interesting to see and understand why a
particulair story took a particulair fork but it's not nessisary. It's
that particulair writers story.)
Mr. Holmes sighed and rose from the bed. The sun was itself just
rising but he DID have work to do. There were things that did make him
relish waking almost as much as it did taking to his bed however. He had

defencive way. He was unsure if it was to guard him from her charms or to

"The bees can go hang!" she said and her eyes flashed with that light he

He set his deductive powers to work and cam to the conclusion (as he had
oft befoe) that the woman was always right.
The Beekeeper jumped back into the bed.

Can a detective who for all intents and purposes gave up crime for the
mysteries of life upon finding the one he loves exist....sure why not...
Sort of am "All Creatures Great and Small" With Holmes and wife solving
country mysteries.....and maybe some city ones with their old friend

believe that Ranma and Akane -are- meant to be together. Why? Because
every truly 'romantic' moment, and every indication given by Takahashi,
says that they will.
Ah, not really....
Isn't it up to the writer to see what happens as long as it is consistant
with their own personal vision of the characters and story?
Akane dead. Ranma alone. Ukyo his friend -but that's all.
Cannon (when writing in relationship to it should always be fluid)
Hell, take a look ant any University or High School reading
list. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn were staples in high school....now not as
much. What about Beaudelaire or Othello...and what is considered
"correct" Margret Atwood or any other Dead White Male?
No matter what things seem the "law of Gravity" is just a generalized
theory....it's not an absoloute truth.
No matter what happens you can find a shadow where whatever
you want happens.
As you head deeper and deeper towards Chaos the probabilities
change even easier -but are much harder to control.
You may look for a world where Ranma never became cursed (but
everyone else did...what happens there? Well, Is Akane still
the best choice for Ranma. Akane it seems is both attracted and
repelled by Ranma's "curse". She is more willing to let Ranma
be a friend when a female -more intamcy has an automatic
acceptance in this part of the relationship. Akane has disliked
boys for a long time. Why should she even stand for the
engagement. Sure Ranma is there...but will the closeness they
seem to have in the anime when Ranma is a female be gone?
What will they do about it if anything?
Have you ever seen the way Kasumi looks at Ranma some
times???
What exactly is the look on her face in the second or
3rd ep.??? The one where he vaults down the stairs
and into her arms???
