Personally I'd say don't be disheartened.  Getting even one of the 600+ subs
of the FFML to read a fic takes time.  Another, is if the story itself
starts of interestingly
enough, then you'll get an audience.   C&C are just that...C&C's and in any
form,
negative or positive, it was made due to a reaction to the fic itself.  You
can't please
everybody but you'll defintely please some.

I myself went on to read the RAAC version of Chapter 4 of Slayers 1/2 and
I'd have to say
it was pretty much acurate to the way Slayers would have been written with
the Ranmaverse
thrown in.  Not the way Ranma is written with Slayers thrown in.  Slayer has
that thinge of
low down to earth comedy and action.  Ranma on the other hand...well it's
been discussed
before.

Regarding OOC Ranma, Akane and the rest.  Well, it was there.  Can't argue
with that.  But
it was generated by the theme of Slayers, not Ranma I'm afraid, so I guess
it can't be helped.
I'm not against Slayers, but it's very nature that makes it a good anime in
its own right.  Much
like the same why Dragonball lasted so long, their characters are tough,
unknowing to most of
the things happening around them, and hardly capable to show emotions except
rage and
hatred whenever they fight.  Remember when Dragonball appeared, it wasn't
taken so seriously
due to the childish thinge it presented mixed with the fighting, but when
Dragonball Z came out,
boy it properly mixed in those elements I mentioned.
