I'm tentatively titleing this The 'Choices Made' Saga. It basically
takes the road left untouched, meaning it's an alternaverse. It was
sort of inspired by El Hazard TV. If you really want to know where I'm
going with all this, then read the story :)

The 'Choices Made' Saga
Part One: Of New Beginnings
"Makoto-chan!"
Mizuhara Makoto turned, smiling, toward his girlfriend. Just
yesterday they officially started going out. Two days ago he loved her
as a friend. Now, it was different. Not the feelings, just the way
they both expressed them. More careing, more openly.
"Hello, Makoto-chan!" Nanami cried as she threw herself into his
arms.
More profoundly. They both found they really liked it. It was as
if it was fated, or maybe they just justified it that way. They didn't
care, it didn't matter *why*, only that it happened.
"What'cha up to, Na-chan?" Makoto asked her after she pecked him
on the lips.
Nanami smiled the smile that Makoto loved the most, making his
heart soar. To him, nothing could be better in his life. Nothing could
make it any more pleasant.
"Well," she began, "my brother is doing an interview for that ruin
his discovered."
Makoto amended his thought. One thing could make his life perfect
above all. If only the brother of his girlfriend wasn't also his
self-proclaimed arch nemesis. He sighed, his face reflecting his
thoughts.
Nanami, of course, took note of this. "What's the matter,
Makoto-chan?"
He looked up into her worried eyes and crumbled like so much shale.
"It's just your brother."
Her face took on a look more of understanding. "I know. He's a
real jerk! I have no idea why he won't stop picking on you! I try to
talk to him, but he just tells me to go off and talk to you if I feel
like chatting! Ungrateful wretch!" She looked Makoto in the eyes
again. "You know? I think he might be adopted."
Makoto gazed into her serious expression for a while, before
bursting into laughter. Nanami soon joined in, both holding each other
tighter.
As the laughter ebbed, Nanami whispered in Makoto's ear, "I hope
it's not a recessive gene that could show up in our children."
Makoto almost choked. He stared incredulously at Nanami as she
started walking toward the school. He quickly gathered up his wits and
chased after her.
In the deepest corner of Shininomi High School lay a throne of the
darkest insanity. A chair in which sat the most depraved young men of
his generation. It took the form of a basic office swivel chair, but
held a corrupting power that should have never been put into such
undeserving hands. The seat, Student Council President, the young man,
Jinnai Katsuhito.
His maniacle laugh traversed the empty Council room, it's tone and
pitch sending shivers up the spines of even the lowliest of cockroaches
present. Scary, considering they don't even *have* spines.
"That's it Makoto! Tonight shall be the time of your undoing!
Tonight I shall rid myself and my sister of your evil existance!"
Jinnai shouted to no one, his face turning into a dark mask of hatred.
Then, laughter once more escaped his throat. Soon after the
painful outburst, came a hacking and wheezing as he over did it.
Makoto and Nanami had gone to see their Principal, Fujisawa
Masumichi.
"Hello, Fujisawa-sensei!" Nanami cheerfully called out as they
entered his room at school.
Makoto repeated the greeting as he followed. Fujisawa looked up
from his glass, which was obviously, by the smell of the room, filled
with alcohol.
"Hey, kids! What brings you here at this time of the night?"
Though a little dry, his voice was seemingly uneffected as of yet by his
most recent binge.
Nanami proudly held up a fully preparred bento. "We thought you
might like some food!"
Tears almost came to Fujisawa's eyes. "Aw, you kids are too good
to me! I don't deserve this sort of treatment."
Makoto stepped up to him in defense. "Sure you do! Just look at
you! Staying here almost all night to work on papers!"
Sure enough, Fujisawa's desk was littered with all kinds of
printouts and forms. He looked down at them as though never seeing them
before, just before shoving them all away. He gestured to both the
students standing before him to come and sit. "Get over here. Let's
talk while I eat."
Makoto sat down obediently, next to Nanami, who was around the desk
corner from Fujisawa.
Fujisawa opened the box, smelling the contents. "Ah! Perfect.
Thank you Nanami."
Nanami beamed. "No problem, sensei."
He continued, "So, how are you two doing? I hear you're somewhat
of an item around here."
The couple blushed, lowering their heads. Fujisawa chuckled at the
sight. "Hmm, seems it's true. Why aren't you out on a date or
something tonight? You shouldn't bother yourself over me."
"Because," Nanami said, "you're our teacher and Principal, and we
also happen to like you." She grinned at the last part.
This time, to the couple's surprise, he did cry. He threw his face
into his hands and weeped the weep of a happy man.
Nanami looked at Makoto confused, who just shrugged in response.
Down in the basement of the school, there was something not normal.
Not in any other school on the planet. There, buried under tons of
rock, unearthed by a sudden and sharp earthquake, was a container. It
looked very Indian in origin, yet had markings that made it very
untracable. Located in a recess that looked like a room, with an eye
scratched into its ceiling, it stood about seven feet tall.
As it was programed to do, at exactly this moment, it opened. Its
front pulled apart to reveal a woman. She was very pale and had long
flowing blue hair. She was dressed in garb like nothing on the Earth,
yet very regal in design. Her long robes drug behind her as she stepped
into the center of the room, almost stumbling over her own feet. Tears
flowed freely from her blue eyes as she brought her hands together in
front of her face. Beams of light shot from the ceiling to the floor in
a brilliant flare. Then, a wider beam came from the woman's hands to
strike the eye at the top of the room. From this point, a sphere of
pure radience began to spread outward at an exponential rate. It
quickly filled the room, and was unhindered by this simple barrier.
Jinnai was just leaving the Council Room when he saw the most
unusual thing. A wall of white light was coming down the hall at him.
He didn't even have time to scream as he was engulfed by it.
Nanami was still looking at Makoto when she noticed a small beam of
light coming from under the door. She just had enough time to take on a
confused expression before the light sweapt through the room.
END PART ONE
Okay, now you should know the major difference in my story. Don't think
I'm going to tell the same story with just a few changes mind you. I
will probably make some more inluential plot alterations as I go, just
to keep things interesting. Why, you might ask? After seeing the first
part of the TV series, I said "What the heck?! Why can't the girl who
likes him and has known him for years, not get him?! This isn't right!"
So, with the power endowed to me by the Fanfic God, I have taken matters
into my own hands. This is one, IMO, that just had to be done!
Comments very much appreciated! Bring 'em on! Part Two around the
corner.
