I've only seen a few Japanese cinematic works.  I've seen "Ran," a very 
well done King Lear interpretation, and "Tetsuo: The Iron Man" (or at 
least I think that's what it's called).  Both were very well done.  I 
enjoyed them immensely.  Aside from the Gamera, Godzilla, Mothra, 
Ultraman, and other movies of the like, that's it.

I don't see any of them influencing how I write.  I'm primarily 
influenced by the anime I watch.  After all, I haven't really seen an 
american film in the past year or so (Jackie Chan doesn't count since 
I've seen them as Hong Kong subs).  I suppose a Disney movie slipped in 
there somewhere, but they're always too happy for my taste.

I like to try to alternate action and slower dialogue to keep things 
going and weave in expository information.  I really haven't been able to 
judge my success since I haven't released any of my fanfiction since I'm 
relatively new, and what has been read hasn't had suggestions to post 
yet.  

I think it's the anime talking/writing.  I like to try to emulate it as 
much as possible in writing to keep people interested and reading.  It 
also makes for a better read in my opinion.

The only other influence on my writing that I can think of is manga and 
illustrated fiction, like Mark Levine's "How To Be A Superhero."

Hrm...  Back to writing!
