Yup.  That's pretty much everyone's general reaction to it, no matter *who*
your favorite character is.

If it's Ukyou, she's dead, so it's a sad ending.
If it's Ranma, he's dead, so it's a sad ending.
If it's Akane, she's a psycho, so it's a sad ending.
If it's Shampoo, she doesn't get a major part, so you're probably tearing
your hair out. ;)

My main problem with the Bitter End isn't the fiction itself, it's with the
people who keep on quoting it as proof that Ranma and Akane don't belong
together.

Ranma and Akane *don't* belong together, but not because of 'The Bitter
End.'  They're just generally incompatible people.

First, The Bitter End is a good well written fanfic. Dark as heck, but a
good fanfic.

Second, I an sick and tired of the "Ranma and Akane do/don't belong
together". This should banned to the spam-list. Takahashi-sama said they
end up together and that's good enough for me. Don't like it?, then
write a fanfic.
