First, the characterizations of the Knight Sabers, Sylia in particular, just
do NOT wash. Sylia would not just walk into a garage, even if it was
Raven's, and hire some unknown mechanic on the spot to work on the
hardsuits. Not without EXTENSIVE background checks, and probably some
arranged 'situational tests'.
Cool, I gotta remember that for my own fanfic. I wasn't aware that she's like
that :(
Oh yeah. Sylia is ultra-paranoid about security.... except when it comes
to the "Rules of the Knight Sabers", which get violated constantly ^_^
(the penalty for breaking a rule is death)
I also highly doubt she'd be blushing just because he 'looked cute'. This
is a woman who runs a secretive mercenary organization, and meets all kinds
of disreputable characters in the course of her activities (sorry Fargo...).
Anyhow, given the level of self-control Sylia has to have, that scene in the
garage is just utterly implausible.
Of course...whe probably won't be able to blush if she's a boomer ;P
^_^
Sounds like you've been at least listening to all the rumors about her <g>
Now, my final gripe with this story centers around the final scenes. Set
initially in Hot Legs, Priss is giving a concert. Then she's shot by some
crazed nut with a gun, who apparently has been stalking her.
Excuse me? Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the central plot device for
Jeanne Hedge's "True Love" fanfic: Priss has been shadowed by an obsessed
fan for weeks, and then he shoots her at a performance so that she can't
'leave him'.
Whoa...ya mean this story was centered around a character you created with a
plot Jeanne Hedge came up with?
I won't claim the plot, because celebrity stalkers are all too common. I
think someone would have to be nuts themselves to say they came up with the
story idea for a celebrity stalker. I just happened to write the first BGC
fanfic on RAAS that used the idea -- but I can't say enough that I DO NOT
claim that idea. Besides, other people have already used it again ^_^
Check my other post on this subject, though, as it details where I think
things seem to be a bit too close for coincidence in my (and obviously
Bert's) opinion
