Part 3-A Typical Dinner?
"Why does it always hafta rain when I'm outside." Ranma-chan
complained as Adam-chan and she walked into the Tendo house.
"Remember, water magnet." Adam-chan commented as she slipped her
shoes off.
"Hello, Ranma and Ranma." Kasumi waved to Ranma-chan and Adam-
chan. "Oh my, Ranma what happened?" Kasumi asked as she looked at the
two identical girl-Ranmas.
"Huh, oh, this is Adam, he's cursed too." Ranma-chan said
pointing at Adam-chan.
"Oh is he staying for dinner?" Kasumi asked.
"Yeah if that's alright."
"Oh that's ok, I'll just set one more place." Kasumi said, then
smiling she walked into the kitchen.
"Come on, let's get some hot water." Ranma-chan said walking
towards the kitchen.
"What the hell?" Nabiki asked as the two walked by the table that
she was sitting at.
"Oh hi Nabiki this is Adam." Ranma-chan said. "Same curse as me."
"Oh, ok." Nabiki said, schemes starting to flow in her mind.
Ranma-chan seeing the look in her eyes mentally sighed. "Come on
Adam, let's get some hot water."
When the two changed and came out of the kitchen Ranma walked
over to Nabiki.
"Uh Nabiki, you know how Akane threw me through the fence and
neighbors wall?" Ranma asked nervously.
"Yeah, what about it?"
"Well ya see, the neighbors would like to be paid for the
damages." Ranma explained.
"Really? Weren't they the ones that moved in a few days ago?"
Nabiki asked.
"Uh, yeah."
"Hmmm. Tell them we will pay 10000 yen." Nabiki said after doing
some mental calculations.
Adam had watched this exchange with amusement until he heard how
much she was planning on paying him.
"Uh, I hate to interrupt something important but do you normally
try to rip someone off that much money?" Adam asked walking over to the
table and sitting down across from Nabiki.
"That isn't any of your business." Nabiki said coldly.
"Actually it is, you see, ah how to put this...I know, I'll give
the good old fashioned, western hick greeting...Howdy neighbor." Adam
said an impossible wide smile plastered on his face with his hand stuck
out, offering to shake hands.
Nabiki took the proffered hand tentatively. Adam grasping her
hand shook it violently.
"So anyway since I want you to pay for the damages how about
25000 yen?" Adam asked.
"15000."
"30000." Adam said, breaking every rule of haggling that Nabiki
knew.
"What? you're supposed to go--"
"35000."
"20000, no more."
"Hmmm, how about this, I get a group in to fix it and I send you
the bill?" Adam asked.
"It sounds reasonably." Nabiki said slowly.
"Good, I think I'll get 'Golden Dragon Renovations' to do the job
'cause they do really good work." Adam said, rubbing his jaw
thoughtfully.
Nabiki went pale, at that remark. Golden Dragon Renovations was
the most expensive renovators in Tokyo. "Um, how about we just give the
25000 yen, ok?" Nabiki finished this by holding up a wad of cash.
"Well I guess." Adam said disappointedly, then took the offered
money. "You think I could use your phone so I could get someone to fix
the damage?" Adam asked pointing to the phone.
"Ah, sure." Ranma answered a little stunned from the exchange
that had just went on.
"Thanks." Adam said as he went over to the phone and dialed a
number.
"Hi, Ryo? Yeah good to talk to you too...Do you think you could
come by my house and fix some damage to my house...You will, for free,
thanks Bye." Adam hung up the phone and turned around to see Nabiki
glaring at him. "Uh thanks for letting me use the phone."
"No problem, ya want to go out to the dojo?" Ranma said, trying
to hold back laughing.
"Sure why not." Adam said glancing at Nabiki who almost looked
like she was glowing blue.
"Well let's go then." Ranma said walking towards the dojo.
* * * * *
"I can't believe it. You actually beat Nabiki." Ranma said to
Adam as soon as they entered the dojo, where he proceeded to break into
a severe laughing fit.
"Hi guys, Hey Adam what's Ranma laughing so hard about?" Akane
asked looking up from a pile of bricks that were in front of her.
Adam told her the story, then told her again when she didn't
believe it.
After Ranma and Akane had stopped laughing, Akane and Adam sat
down and talked as Ranma practiced.
"Akane there is one thing that I don't understand. How come your
nice to me, I mean, and no disrespect meant, most Japanese citizens
would be calling a gaijin and ignoring me?" Adam asked Akane as they
watched Ranma go through a complicated kata.
"Well, let's see, you aren't here to kidnap me, kill me, kill
Ranma, marry Ranma, marry me, kill Ranma's father, take over the world,
and you seem like a nice person." Akane said checking things off on her
fingers.
"You mean that stuff happens here?" Adam asked nervously.
"So often that it's normal."
"Great, I coulda moved in beside that nice temple, with those
three nice Indian sisters and Asian man, but no I had to move here."
Adam mumbled.
"So where did you move from?" Akane asked.
"Wha- oh I moved from London, Ontario in Canada." Adam answered,
breaking out of a daydream.
"Why'd you move?" Akane asked as Ranma finished his kata and sat
down beside Akane.
"My mother died last month and I moved here to live with an
uncle. I didn't want to live with anybody so I bought the house and
put it under my uncle's name until I turn of age." Adam answered.
"You're uncle agreed to that?" Ranma asked, shocked.
"Not at first but he eventually relented." Adam answered. "So
tell me about yourselves."
"Well let's see me and pops went on a ten year training trip to
China..." Ranma began. He talked about everything that had happened in
his life, which cold be book in itself.
"Bragger." Akane muttered under her breath. "Well let's see..."
And Akane was telling her story every once in a while interrupted by
Ranma, until she malleted him into the ground.
"Everyday you where attacked by the entire male student body."
Adam said disbelieving.
"Ya, everyday." Akane said grumpily.
"Just because this moron, Kuno, said that no one could date you
without beating you in a fight?" Adam asked.
"Ya, the thing is he's good enough with his bokken to make sure
that they followed his order." Akane answered.
"Unbelievable and yet he can't or won't believe that Ranma and
his pig-tailed-goddess are the same, despite you showing him the
transformation several times." Adam said, shaking his head.
"Yeah, confusing huh." Ranma said in understanding.
Before anything else could be said Kasumi called out that dinner
was ready.
* * * * *
As Adam entered the room Nabiki shot him a glance that could have
melted tempered steel, Adam just grinned at her.
"So Adam, you're cursed too huh, how'd that happen?" Soun asked
as Kasumi served dinner.
"Well it happened like this..." Adam then told the story about
His trip to Jusenkyou.
Afterwards, Soun was crying because of the tragedy. Kasumi was
sorry for Adam losing his father. Ranma had already heard the story
before. Akane was beating on Ranma because he was being insensitive to
Adam's feelings. Nabiki was scheming and Genma went to get a bucket of
cold water to splash Adam with.
*SPLASH*
*CRASH* Right at the moment that Genma splashed Adam, Shampoo
decided to make an entrance, in the wall.
Shampoo, spotting the recently transformed Adam-chan, glomped
onto her, thinking that Adam-chan was Ranma-chan. "You date Shampoo?"
"She doesn't waste time does she." Nabiki commented to Akane.
"Uh, Shampoo." Akane said, getting the amazon's attention.
"What violent girl want?" Shampoo demanded.
"That's not Ranma."
"This true?" Shampoo asked Adam-chan, who nodded.
"Oh sorry, you Adam right?"
"Yeah." Adam-chan said.
"Where Ranma?" Shampoo asked.
"Uh, he went out." Adam-chan answered, glancing at the hole where
Akane had punted Ranma through.
"Oh, ok, me go find Airen now, bye." Shampoo said before going
through the hole in the wall that she had created.
"Well that was interesting." Adam-chan said watching the
retreating form of Shampoo.
"Actually that was normal." Akane said.
"That will take some time to get use to." Adam-chan
commented.
<End of Part 3>
Nice place to end part 3 don't ya think? This is a first draft
and is still very much rough. This part didn't come out how I thought
it would but I think it's still good. I think that there will be a few
more parts then it'll probable become the villain/problem of the week.
Well enough of my rambling, seeya.
