This was what I meant by why Akane would logically want to be cursed,
if Ranma can live (theoretically) forever young then why wouldn't Akane
find a pool, maybe the same one, and jump in and be pulled out
(assuming she still can't swim) and be young forever OR at least TRY
it.

There is a story idea for  you; Richard; why didn't Akane try or if she
did, why didn't it work in your universe. I can see a couple of
possibilities offhand either way.  Some of which could make interesting
stories for anyone who wants to try them. They are free for the using,
help yourself
