'Tis a shame. I, for one, have enjoyed your feedback.
Another reason is i have become frustrated with the excessive Ranma
traffic on the List.
<shrug> This is a by-product of Ranma 1/2's popularity. Until the next
killer piece of anime comes along, Ranma 1/2 is going to dominate Ranma
fanfiction. I personally don't think that's a bad thing - the
Ranmaverse is a fascinating place to play in. So many interpersonal
relationships, so many different ways to interpret them, so many
possibilities to explore. *That's* the appeal of Ranma 1/2, and that's
what makes it more appealing than other anime to write about.
I have not seen a lemon dealt with in a realistic manner. Look at
what you are writing about, teenagers engaged in unprotected sex.
Pregnancy,Aids,Abortion, the social stigma attached to out of wed lock
births. These issues are never addressed. Can we realstically expect
forteen to eigthteen year olds to perform better than triple x movie
stars?
Heh, I know exactly what you mean. If you want to see my take on a
realistic lemon, read my story "Needs and Desires". I wrote it
basically to write a story about teenagers having sex for the first
time, the way it really happens. I address some of the above issues -
protection, disease, etc. And the participants don't, er, perform very
well. In fact, the woman doesn't even come close to having an orgasm,
which is almost always the case for a woman's first time.
Now, all this talk about realism is somewhat irrelevant. People write
lemons with the full knowledge that they are not at all realistic, and
most people who read them understand that first-time sex is not at all
as it is described. People who write and read lemons on a regular basis
have other priorities than realism. ^_^
Me? I don't get my kicks from reading those kind of lemons. I agree
with you, they turn me off. But I also acknowledge that as a personal
opinion, and I don't discourage people from writing lemons if they feel
like it.
My rant and my humble opinion only.
Ditto. :)
In closing i would like to thank the FFML for putting up with me these
months.Uniformly i have found you intelligent, helpful and honest. My
fellow webtvers often complain that when they visit various news groups
or MLs they are ignored or flamed;i have never had that happen to me
here. Even when i was just lurking in your websites and writing you, you
wrote me back. Perhaps i should tell my fellows that its not the medium
but the message. If you come into a forum loud, obnoxius and disregarding
protocal then yes you will get burned.
I'm glad this has been a good experience for you. The FFML can be a
very nice place. I'm certainly grateful for its existence.
I dont know how long i'll be gone but once i buy the webtv printer
adapter, construct my website and work on my writing, i'll be back in
full force.
Hope to see you again.
