Ok, ok sue me I couldn't get this out yesterday, sorry.
Ranma awoke early the next morning to...was that humming? Getting up
groggily
he looked around... He was in a wagon! And there was Mr. Panda, oh no he'd
thought it was only a dream, but oh this was going to be a wonderful
adventure.
That voice in the back of his head pointed out that it probably wouldn't all
be so
grand. It would most likely involve many skimpy meals, bad weather, and not
to
mention lots of hard work. That voice in his head sure did know how to take
all
the fun out of life (Aww Aruthra...)
Chapter 4 Long Journeys
All characters belong to those who created them. These
being Eddings and Rumiko Takahashi.
"Well I see that you are finally awake, well come and have some food." Mr.
Panda said waving him over to the fire. "Your aunt gave us some supplies
before
we left this morning, so eat as much as you want while it lasts." Ranma took
a
bowl of (yegh)porridge and a couple of strips of bacon. Both of them
commenced
to attack their food with a vengeance.
"Well boy, now that that is over worth you want to start your training?"
"Yea! When can I start"
"Well boy I was thinking right now. Come on lets see what you can do.
Attack!"
And thus Ranma began the biggest blunder ever, well in his mind at least. He
began his training with that old fool Genma as he learned he was called.
Sure
he was slightly more worldly and less naieve that he other wise might have
been.
And yes he had gotten to meet a lot of famous people(how did the old fool
know
all of those people he never did find out). The traveling to all the different
training
grounds didn't really bother him all that much either. As a matter of fact
he had
grown used to it though he did go through bouts of longing to see Aunt
Nodoka,
Hiroshi, Disuke and well most of all Ukyou. The thing that was disastrous
about the whole venture happened when he was about twelve...
It was a training ground in Moosiya (Nyissa in DE). After hours of slogging
through the snake infested underbrush and swamp their guide had led them to a
large clearing. In the clearing were hundreds of pools, all of which had at
least
one bamboo pole sticking out of them.
Their guide started to speak to them, "Welcome sssirsss. Here isss losst
training groundsss of cursssed ssspringsss, Jusssenkyou. Legend hasss it
that
it wasss the both the boon and bane of ss..."
"Well boy, what do you think?" Genma said showing his customary lack of
courtesy.
"Aww, it aint half as bad as some of the places you've taken me. Come on old
man, let's see if you can keep up."
"I'll teach you respect for your elders yet boy." With that said they both
lept onto the bamboo poles, ignoring the protests of the startled guide.
Jumping back and forth between the poles they traded blows, until Genma got
in one lucky shot which sent Ranma flying towards one of the pools.
"Oh, sssir no. Terrible thing happen to those who fall in ssspringsss."
"Well now we'll see the truth." Genma murmured evilly.
SPLASH!
Out of the pool popped, not Ranma. No not him, it was a slightly on the
small
side redheaded girl. "Ahh, damnit old man did you have to knock...me...into.
Ahhh, what the hell. Old man what the hell kind of place is this to drag
someone to train."
"Oh sssir, never did I think that thisss would happen, as legend sssay
only...
Urk" Genma crashed down upon the guide and approached his charge.
"Well boy actually I had just thought it a legend and, well I didn't pay any
attention to the warning."
"What, aren't you the person who always says that there is nothing truly
impossible, well aren't you. I'll get you for this." So saying Ranma
promptly kicked Genma in the chest knocking him backwards into one
of the pools. Serves the old fool right, whatever happens to him.
