This bit bothers me, more than I might have expected. One element of the 
Tenchiverse that I enjoy is the organic nature of all the 'technologies'; 
Juraian ships with 'trees' at their hearts, Ryo-Ohki the starship that 
turns into a cabbit... This goes in the opposite direction -- making 
people seem more mechanistic. Knowing you, it's probably deliberate, but 
it still gives me an unpleasantly 'dirty' feel. 

	But I know also that moments like these are meant to be kept close
to the heart, becoming golden as the years and eons turn past.

	She thanked me.

	She called me mom.

	If I'd only gotten it on tape, everything would be perfect.

Nice vignette, despite the carping. Interesting how both you and Ryan 
came out with serious TenchiFics on similar subjects on the same day. :)

Heh. I could just imagine the go-arounds between Washu and Mentor. :) I 
think he'd get along a lot better with Tsunami, ne?

	They are appropriate ... Hayashi has stated that much of his
inspiration for both Tenchi Muyou and El Hazard comes from old pulp
science fiction.  Certainly the Souja is something of an homage to
Skylark of Valeron ...

Never read that much of Skylark; didn't spark much interest in me the 
time I tried it. I liked the Lensman books much better. ;> And Burroughs' 
Barsoom books, an obvious influence on El Hazard. :)
