****BlueSeed Special Adventure: Spreading the Seeds! Momiji's Manga
Misfortunes****

Chapter 1

Fujimiya Momiji shrieked as the enormous ivy creature swiped at
her with one green tentacle. The large leaf at the end of the
tentacle sliced through the hem of her skirt as she leaped out of the
way.
"This aragami is a hentai!" Momiji cried out, readying the grenade
launcher Koume had given her. The Terrestrial Administration Crew, or
TAC as they were commonly known, had gathered in a large plant
nursery in a Tokyo suburb when Momiji sensed the presence of one of
the demonic aragami creatures. This one was being a little feistier
than many of the others they'd come across, and it didn't help that
their special weapon was delayed...
"So stop whining about it and blow the thing up!" Koume yelled, as
she clicked off the safety of her brand new, specially designed
rocket launcher. "MATSUDAIRA!" she bellowed. "Where the hell are
those plasmid rockets?"
"Working on it, Koume!" the chief scientist of the TAC shouted
back. She'd developed a newer, more powerful version of her anti-
aragami plasmid, that she believed the creatures would develop less
resistance to. "Yaegashi, I need more data on the aragami!"
The computer boy of the TAC, Yaegashi Yoshiki, typed furiously on
his laptop, pushing his glasses up on his nose as he waited for a
response to his scan. "Seems to be a typical aragami...multiple
species of plants fused."
"What did you EXPECT in a greenhouse?" Koume spat.
The aragami continued to assault Momiji and Koume. Koume had long
since given up waiting for the rockets, and had drawn her handgun of
choice. "Alright, let's have some action!" she cried as she unloaded
the clip into the monster.
All she succeeded in doing was pissing it off, and it shot several
long spines at her.
"Be careful Koume," Yaegashi warned. "It seems to have hyrbids of
cactus and rose DNA, and is able to launch its spines and thorns."
"No, REALLY? I hadn't noticed!" Koume shot back. She grimaced as
one of the spines struck her in the calf. "You green son of a bitch!
Now I'm MAD!" she shouted, and rolled over to where Matsudaira was
still toying with her rockets. "Gimme those!" she shouted, and
snatched up three rockets, ignoring the scientist's protests.
Recovering the launcher and loading it, she bellowed, "Momiji, get
DOWN! Incoming!" and fired.
The aragami roared as the plasmid rockets struck it, and it took
several paces back, many of its tendrils, vines, and leaves wilting
and dying. However, the core of the monster, apparently a Venus
flytrap, snapped its jaws together angrily and began to drool.
"Uhhh, Koume? I think it's mad now," Momiji said.
"You should have waited until I was finished, you trigger maniac!"
Matsudaira yelled. "Now look what you've done!"
"If you're all finished bickering," came a rather calm, slightly
amused male voice from out of nowhere, "Maybe we'd better concentrate
on finding its mitama and destroying it, before it decides Koume and
Momiji would make a nice snack?"
Everyone looked up. On the central ceiling support stood a very
unusual young man. He had very dark skin, and catlike eyes with
slitted pupils, as well as protruding fangs. His clothing was rugged,
a red jacket and blue jeans which looked as though they'd seen many
better days. Strange blue beads seemed to be embedded in his wrists.
"Kusanagi-san!" Momiji yelled, waving. "Come down here and help us
fight it, please!"
The aragami decided this would be a good time to attack, and
wrapped one of its larger vines around Momiji. The girl screamed as
the monster dragged her towards its jaws.
Kusanagi scowled. "Alright, that's enough of that, you stupid
weed!" He clenched his fists, and his body trembled. A moment later,
large protrusions, like tentacles of bone, erupted from his shoulders,
and his wrists bulged as long, wicked blades tore free of the tender
flesh. With an animalistic snarl of rage, he leapt from his perch,
and aimed himself at the aragami's head, blades extended in front of
him. It looked up at him and hissed, shooting several wicked, dagger-
like thorns. Kusanagi parried all of the thorns with his blades, and
twisted in midair to drive a kick into the aragami's main body. It
howled, and lashed at him with its tentacles. The altered youth
rolled away from the attack, and collided with the base of the vine
which it had used to grab Momiji. He narrowed his eyes, and slashed
the vine with his blades. Momiji gave a yelp as she was promptly
tossed to the ground by the now-dead vine, landing roughly on her
rear. "Sorry about that," Kusanagi said, winking at her as he sprang
to his feet and threw himself at the aragami again.
The thing bellowed in rage and attempted to swat the boy, but it
wasn't working. Kusanagi leapt onto its head, ignoring its attempts
to hit him, and searched it. "Okay you miserable piece of plant shit,
where's that seed?" Finally he spotted a turnip-like bulb at the base
of the aragami's main body. The bulb throbbed, and it was glowing in
such a way that its surface was translucent, making it possible for
Kusanagi to see the small shape within that resembled a stylized
version of the Arabic numeral '9'. With a roar, Kusanagi leapt down,
and sliced open the bulb. The aragami bellowed in pain, and thrashed
wildly. The altered youth ignored it and reached into what was the
heart of the beast, grasping the object within, and crushing it. The
glow abruptly faded, and the aragami fell to the ground, silent.
As the aragami's remains wilted, Koume wheeled on Matsudaira. "Why
the HELL didn't the rockets work?"
Matsudaira smirked, and held up a vial. "I hadn't finished
inserting the plasmid mix into the delivery mechanism, Koume."
"Well ya coulda told me!" the hotheaded weapons expert fumed.
Momiji picked herself up and dusted off her bottom, smiling at
Kusanagi. "Kusanagi-san, arigatou!" she said.
Kusanagi retracted his blades and reverted to his normal
appearance. "It was no problem, Momiji. Saraba da!" he waved, and
leapt through the skylight, disappearing. Momiji sighed.

As the TAC members packed up and prepared to head back to
headquarters, Yaegashi commented, "I wish I knew why the aragami had
traces of dandelion DNA in it..."
"Eh, who cares? A plant's a plant," Koume supplied.
"Dandelions, you say?" Matsudaira said, rubbing her chin.
"Yaegashi, you'll have to give me a copy of your analysis of that
thing."
   "Sure thing, Matsudaira-san."

A short while after the TAC left, the large, flytrap-like head of
the dead aragami began to pulse, and exploded. A large, black,
fragile-looking object rolled across the floor of the greenery, and
out the rear entrance. As soon as it cleared the building, it
shattered, and its fragments, like the fragments of a dandelion, were
carried away on the wind.
And attached to each feathery black fragment, was a tiny blue seed.
