THE INTRO!!!!
Introduction
The first thing that was evident after the discovery of
Hyperspace travel was that people could travel vast
amounts of distances within a short time frame. There
were seventy different worlds in the Milky Way Galaxy,
many of which were inhabited by races of beings similar
to Earth's, which showed evidence of a common ancestor,
or common evolution. That list was narrowed down as it
was disposed of species that were too hostile, species
that required another type of gas to survive other than
oxygen, those that ate humans, and lastly, those that
were asexual. The list was narrowed down even further by
those planets that secretly under the table gave money to
people who explored their planet to come home and say
that the planet was uninhabited. Fourty planets in total
were discovered, after investigation of these worlds,
only 12 remained. The National Space Organization, NSO,
was founded to explore the far reaches of space.
The first planet that was found that had paid to be
unnoticed was Skalorr, a binary system that held some
twenty worlds, and had been devastated many years before
by a brief rain of fire from the suns. But many years
after, an expeditionary mission that was supposed to be
heading to the star system behind it was caught by the
Centaurans, another type of humanoids, from Skalorr, and
their ship was taken apart, but before that, to avoid
retailiation from Earth, the Centaurans made them send a
distress signal saying that they were dying.
The small ship's Hyperdrive, as Earthen language called
it, was inspected and put to good use, by those of the
two stars, that of the Conglomerates and the Centaurans.
Both sides had vast amounts of ships to put to use, and
trade between the twenty- three worlds of the binary
system florished. They began to adopt different views of
things as time went on. The Centaurans wanted to explore,
and make peace, the Conglomerate wanted to destroy. The
Conglomerate stole several thousand ships, commandeered
by one ship (one ship controlled an armada, this idea was
scrapped shortly after this incident) and went to find
another planet to live.
Jeb Colipiths, immortal, Centauran, the commander of
the armada, decided that in order to spread their
control, they ought to set up a base in the middle of the
galaxy. So many things went wrong. First, the star which
was to shine light on their world was a blue star, and it
was warned that after several decades their skin would be
eventually blue, and there would be no stopping the
genetic alteration.
Jeb, not a care in the world about their future, decided
to steal a planet, and have it brought back to the exact
center of the galaxy. However, the next problem was that
a massive asteroid field covered the stretch of space
which they wanted. The asteroids were placed into the
ships, and placed at the location of the planet, opposite
side (the area between Mars and Jupiter). The
Conglomerate took the planet, named Miaka, and moved it
into position in the area they wanted. However, as it
turned out, many of the ships Hyperdrives had failed and
they were in the system, waiting. The ships still had the
asteroids with them, so three were positioned as small
moons above the planet. Then the Centaurans arrived.
The Centaurans attacked the ships ruthlessly, but were
not strong enough to really do much damage. The planet in
place, an atmosphere was created, and soon life
flourished. However, contradicting to their previous
intentions, instead of peace, Jeb turned her new power of
ruling to take over other worlds. Ackjh was the first to
be "taken over" by the newly- christened Empire, and
Ackjh was turned into a building outpost. Note: Ackjh was
pretty much left alone, not patrolled regularly, and had
very little law and order, but had very little in the way
of resisting forces. The new Space Train, called Avenger,
was created, along with the Empire's first dreaded
Dreadnought Destroyer. The Avenger was completed in a
year (technology thousands of years later could build a
Space Train in a month, but go bankrupt), one of three
massive ships to begin destruction of helpless worlds.
The next planet to be overtaken, however unsucessfully,
by the Empire's wrath was Kraakatorass' Moon, which was
inhabited by a small but growing army called the Southern
Quadrant, which had been founded many years before. The
Southern Quadrant were basically Centaurans that didn't
want to have anything to do with the galaxy's petty
matters. They were basically considered outcasts by
everyone. The Avenger wrecked havoc on the small moon,
but for some odd reason, two things were left alone. One
was the odd assortment of Robotix, advanced war machines,
and the second, and probably the most oddest of all was
the fact that the moon was ravaged but the original
planet was left alone. The Southern Quadrant Military
radioed the Centaurans to help them, which they refused,
but sent ships anyway. The Miakan ships were shooed away,
but The Southern Quadrant Military couldn't tell the
difference between friendly and enemy ships, and began
firing upon every ship in the system. The Centaurans were
sent reeling, and, suspecting a trap, left the moon and
went into hibernation, but not before nearly destroying
Miaka in another attack. The Avenger, followed by several
other Dreadnought Destroyers, was listed as missing,
after it's Hyperdrive failed and it was stuck somewhere
by Dsadia and Harbarkarr.
The next few thousand years were quiet. The Centaurans
quickly evolved into creatures that had four arms and
four legs. Jeb Colipiths was overthrown as ruler,
beheaded three times, and then exiled to Kraakatorass,
where many of the Centaurans during the battle for Miaka
had gone to avoid war. Jeb became one of the
Kraakatoranns, and by the time Jeb left, five years
after meeting Grand Admiral Peers quite coincidentally on
a peaceful mission (Peers stayed on the planet for five
years, serving as an ambassador), came the Occurrence at
Kraakatorass. Before it, a large group of ships went to
Earth to explain what was happening to their ships, and
to see if they could bring their people to the planet. It
was a complete sucess. Quite by accident, a small moon
crashed into Kraakatorass. While the planet lost 50
percent of it's land mass, it was able to keep life on
it. But still, many, many had died.
However, it was said that the Empire did the damage,
because a Dreadnought Destroyer (Peers' expeditionary
ship) had been in the area and was close to the planet.
The Empire of course said that they had done nothing, and
the case was sort of dropped, but there remained much
hostility between the two.
The Earth, in the year 2005, closest and least
defended of all the planets, reduced the age of people
becoming adults from fifteen, reduced after the year 2000
because of heated debate, to thirteen. Naturally, those
who died mostly during that time of lull from the
Empire's first attack was thirteen and fourteen year
olds, topped only by politicians who were under too much
pressure from the military to reduce the age even
further.
The schools all over the world were closed, mostly
because of the fear that if the school was bombed, no one
would survive, but if the cities were bombed, kids would
be in their homes, either in the basements, or outside
the bombing areas. Children were literally taken from the
streets to be put into the military, and while the
government said that it was wrong, it was never stopped.
After many of the children were taken, a few escaped
during training, and jumped to Hyperspace. Amongst those
was twelve year old Raye and Janis Kanwak, both of whom
will come in later. Most of these refugees were taken
into the Empire's custody. Their names were released to
Earth, which first step was to take the Hyperdrives off
the one-man fighters, and then invent the tractor beam.
Most of the time was spent preparing for war. People
built bomb shelters, and other things. Spies were sent to
Miaka aboard ramshackle cruisers, or captured Dreadnought
Destroyers. From these spies, Earth learned of a massive
super weapon called the HyperDrive, which was the first
offensive weapon that was classified top secret since the
Avenger's creation two thousand years before. However,
insufficient data was gathered, and two people were sent
to find more information. Another group was also sent,
made up of young girls whose mission was to find out
about Miaka's weaponry. The first group consisted of Rita
and Roger TJaden, Father and daughter, and the second
group was Bridget and Amy Rhyson, Gretchen Colipiths, and
Ria Jaden. These two groups soon met, and from that,
came the greatest adventure anyone could have ever
dreamed of.
And so our story begins, just as the assault on
Kraakatorass begins, some two thousand years ago, about
three months after the Empire formed. . . .
