well well seems like i finally bothered to write a fic.. after lurkin 
fer the past year
reading everything i could get my hands on (and writing a few) i have 
finally decided
to return the favor by actually finishing one.. (or at least getting 
beyond paper notes). 
well standard disclaimer and stuff.. on with the fic




RANMA � FANFIC:  OF HONOR WON AND TIME LOST  prelude

[Tendo Dojo, present]

Soun Tendo sits in his dining room crying while reading a postcard 
featuring a panda on 
it's front.

Soun: Finally! how long i have waited... and finally he's coming.. 

Soun (yelling):  Kasumi! Nabiki! Akane!

[Somwhere in China, 2 weeks ago]

A furious Shampoo stalks off into the distance as Genma and Ranma cower 
behinf an umbrella

Ranma: This is getting ridiculous..

Genma: Son, you may be right... maybe it's time we went back to Japan.  
Just one thing 
i have to do... we leave in the morning.

later that day Genma sits writing on the back of a postcard;
			
			Tendo, am coming from China with Ranma.
			 Stopping to see Nadoka first. Will be there ..

Genma stops for a second and scrawls a date two weeks from then.

[Tendo Dojo, present]

Soun is seated across teh table from his three daughters.

Soun: a good friend of mine is coming here with his son. If one of you 
were to marry him 
our dojo would be secure.

Akane (yelling): You expect us to marry someone we don't even know?

Nabiki: Calm down Akane, you never know he might be REALLY cute.

Kasumi: I hope he's older than me.. younger men bore me.

Nabiki: So Daddy is he cute?

Kasumi: Is he older?

Soun: I don't know.

Nabiki: You don't know?

Soun: I've never met him.

Akane (thinking): Oh please...

Soun flips over the postcard

Soun: He should be here any minute. 

Suddenly there's a  noise from the front door.

Nabii: It must be Ranma!

Soun: Saotome! My friend!

Both take off running dow the hall

[Saotome home, 2days ago]

Genma: Ranma.. promise me you'll go to the Tendo Dojo... it is all i 
ask... hopefully 
you can restore my honor.

Nadoka: are you ready?

Genma: yes dear..

Genma drops to his knees and removes a tanto blad from it's wrapping, 
with a final glance 
at his son he plunges it into his torso ripping it upwards and guiding 
it to make a 
gruesome from of the letter Z. As Genma completes it Nadoka draws her 
katana and relieves 
him of his pain with a sigle swoop of her blade.Genma's corpse sinks to 
the ground his 
lifblooding still flowing from the stump that used to support his  head. 
Nadoka then turns 
to Ranma

Nadoka: My son... I cannot hold you responsible...  But I too am 
accountable... I made 
him make that stupid promise and because of it, I have been widowed... 
Ranma will you be 
my kaishaku? I must remove this stain from my honor.

Ranma: Mother you..

Nadoka (interupting): it must be done.. be strong my son..

Nadoka drops to her knees as Ranma takes up her sword, like a pair of 
mimes the two 
wordlessly re-enact the bloodshed of moments before.

[Saotome home, a half hour later]

Ranma sits at a desk, pen in hand, writing a letter as tears stream down 
hi face.

Ranma: Mother.. Father... I will bring honor to our name..

[Tendo Dojo, present]

Akane and Kasumi are still stting at the table when Nabiki and Soun walk 
back into the 
room with a slight air of disappontment about them.

Akane: so where's....?

Nabiki (interrupting): just the mailman 

Akane: so i guess we're off the hook then... at least for awhile

Unnoticed by the two sisters, Soun has started reading a letter. Nabiki 
is the first to 
take notice.

Nabiki: what's it say Daddy?

Soun just sits there in silence, re-reading the letter.  Nabiki get's up 
and starts 
reading over his shoulder.

Nabiki: 'Will come as soon as possible. Be prepared' signed Ranma 
Saotome....


END OF PRELUDE

well i hope u enjoyed this even if it's more of a teaser than anything 
else... sens all

possiblities.. the 
present format i'm looking at would have it go about 10 chapters with 
all the cast 
appearing but i'll burn that bridge when i get to it....
