	How is this important? And if I had to guess, the First Fanfic ever
written wasn't Anime based.  Hell, fanfics go back many a years ago.
 

	Actually, I can _partially_ answer this. The first fanfic known
was a hand-mimeographed story that was a fan's homage to J. R. R. Tolkien,
written in the late 1930's/early 1940's. There's a copy of it in a fan-fic
acrhive in a college back east. It's incomplete, because the only copy
they were able to find was damaged. But it is widely believed to be the
first known instance of fan-fiction.

	I can't recall the title right now, nor the link. But I do have it
somewhere, and I do remember that it can be read via gopher. If anyone is
interested, I'll see if I can't find it again.
