first of all, I would like to say that this story is allready showing
its promise as a good story with an unique character which has just as
much depth as one created by Takahashi.
Wow! Very high praise indeed!
A few questions and suggestions to consider.
1> Ranma knows that Mouko is a TIGER for pete's sake, so why isn't he
scared shitless? She certainly is very feline, and that is one of the
things which turns him off of Shampoo.
Phobias are very weird and it often takes something to trigger them (my
wife's uncle and aunt are both pscychiatrists, and we had a little
discussion with them about my mother in law's claustrophobia) It is my
assumption, which admittedly requires a little leap of faith, that Ranma
is free of the phobia as long as Mouko is in human form. If she ever
were to get splashed with hot water around him, then we would see major
fireworks! :) But because of the close, sibling-like bond between
them, his feelings for her are stronger than his phobia in girl form at
least. I know many may not accept this explanation, but there it is.
As I said, it requires a minor suspension of disbelief, but
psychiatrically speaking, it should be at least realistic.
2> But we can tell he is't about to go into the Neko-ken mode though,
so
what will Mouko do when he does? He would be a lot like her in that
case, and they would probably have a very good romp.
Hard to say. I've never seen any of the mangas or animes that have any
Neko-ken in them. Although I'm desperately searching for more
information on how it works, until I can find one, I will probably keep
avoiding the issue. Mouko knows about Ranma's fear anyway, so she is
going to try and avoid him if she were in tiger form, or in any danger
of a transformation.
3> Now to most people, who would be the logical male to hook her up
with. There are three main choices. Kuno is off the bat from the
start, and Mousse is too obssesed with Shampoo. Naturally everyone
thinks of Ryoga, who is a nice guy, probably as strong as her, and
Ranma
wants him away from Akane anyway. But it doesn't feel right. I can't
shake the image of Mouko seeing the pig inside Ryoga just like she did
the monkey in the martial artist and laughing to tears at him, probably
revealing his secret to Akane too.
Mouko doesn't have any idea what she's getting into. Tiger social life
is VERY solitary, and tigers neither mate for life, nor participate in
bi-parental rearing of the young. The concept of romantic love is
totally foreign to her as well; in fact she doesn't understand love at
all, except for maybe the feeling of responsibility towards your young
(more instinctive than actual love) or the "love between friends"
variety that she feels for Ranma and Genma.
4> Finally, Mouko is a Tiger fighter, and Ranma's personal style is
Tiger like, fast and deadly, and his chi-blast is called the Tiger's
Roar. Did she teach him back in china, or will she help Ranma get in
touch with the Tiger in his style, or even inside his neko-ken?
Actually, that's a good idea. I can't imagine Ranma not wanting to
learn any martial arts technique he sees, so their ought to be some
charing of experiences at some point. I don't know what repercussions
that will have for the overall Ranma continuity in my story. maybe
none.
