This is an excellent story. I can't wait to see what the other
characters have been up to for the last five years.
Thanks for the compliments!
I have a few quick
questions about this part, that maybe you can address.
1) In the very first section, when Shampoo talks, she sounds exactly
like she does in the manga/anime. If she's been in Japan for five years
now, shouldn't her Japanese have improved to the point that you don't
have to write in her "accent" anymore?
You'll find out in Shamps' part that she actually hasn't been in Japan
for all this time. She went back to rejoin her Amazon sisters shortly
after... a signifigant event in her life.
2) The love potion thing confused me. If it was supposed to last a
day, why did its effects simply disappear when Ranma turned back to a
guy? If it only worked on the opposite sex, shouldn't it still be in
effect, and he would fall for the next female he saw? If not, shouldn't
he still "love" Kuno, even as a guy? Either of those options seems like
the most likely, and if you want to keep the section as is, an
explanation of why it worked that way might be good.
The original story makes it clear that the love pills make the victim
love the first person of the opposite sex he/she sees, for the duration
of the pill. It didn't say or show what would happen if the victim
changes sex while under the influence. There are three possibilities
that I can see:
1) The effect simply continues, and the victim loves the original target
for the duration, even though they are now of the same gender.
2) The effect is suspended, having already been "used up" on the first
target which is no longer applicable; victim behaves normally until
changed back.
3) The effect is transferred so that the victim will love the next
person he sees of the opposite gender. (Opposite to current gender.)
It's pretty much author's discretion which of these is true. I pretty
much arbitrarily decided that (1) is not true in my story. (2) could be
true, but (3) is also a possibility if you consider the events of the
story. The first female Ranma saw after becoming a man was Akane. I
leave it to all of you to decide why a love pill might leave Ranma
feeling the same about her as he always did.
Hope I answered your questions well enough. Thanks for writing!
