I, being a fan of the Moody Blues, was listening to this album, and
received a bit of inspiration. So, at five in the morning, here I am,
writing this fic. Hope someone gets something out of it.

Setsuna stared into the eternal blackness of the ether around her.
Her eye's tried vainly to focus on something, however, her mind was
wondering elsewhere. She was thinking of how lonely it was here. Just
her, and forever. Eternity was not good company. She had access to all
time, but it was all boring to her. She had allready lived a life here,
and had learned all there was to know. What does one do once one has
all knowledge. Some would say become a goddess. Sure, no problem, if
only she could actually effect the time line. Outside protecting the
Silver Milennium, she was forbidden to mess with time. In fact, she had
to guard it from all who would dare to change it. It was an
infinitesimal relief from the infinitely dreary existance. Not that she
didn't appreciate it though. Any amount of time, for her, was taken as
a mother accepts her child. She recalled an Earth band which always
seemed to stick out in her mind. She always found they're lyrics to
match her thoughts amazingly. A verse popped into her head as her gaze
crossed to the latern hanging innocently by the Gate.
"Pinprick holes in a colorless sky,
let insipid figures of light pass by.
The mighty light of ten thousand suns,
challenges infinity, and is soon gone."
It was a sight, the beginning and subsequent ending of the Universe.
Yet, seen countless times, even it's splendor could grow old.
Only one point in time lasted for her. It was an amazing length of
history. The lives whom it blessed in Space called it the Silver
Milennium. For her it passed in nary a day. However, a day for a
thousand years was quite a feat. It was during this time she existed in
Space, the shackles of time protectively wrapped about her.
Unfortunately, this passed, as was her destiny, and she had to shed her
blanket of security and face her fate. Here, soon, the small amount of
time spent in Space became a fuzzy blur, about a day long. This brought
another memory of a verse.
"Your here today,
your future nears.
This day will last,
a thousand years.
You'll want it to."
Absolutely right. She treasured that moment, that insignificant episode
in the expansive linearity of her existance. For some reason, that day
could go on forever in her mind, the one thing that was finite for her.
Another line came forth at this thought.
"Time seems to stand quite still.
In a child's world, it always will."
That was her young life. Now, she had a hard time (rather ironic) with
the concept of 'life'. For her, in her current state, it was very moot.
Her existance spanned infinity, and birth and death were novel concepts
for her.
She sighed, tired from all the thinking she had just done. She lazily
brought up her Key. She stared at the garnet set in it's top with a
passive gaze. The sphere seemed to embody all that was dark about her,
she was, after all, and outer senshi. Her realm was the darness, even
though she had a firm tie to the light. A double agent, forced to
devide herself between two opposing worlds. She quoted, out loud, the
most important words ever spoken.
"Cold hearted orb, that rules the night.
Removes the colors from our sight.
Red is gray, and yellow, white.
But we decide which is right,
and which is an illusion."
END
Hmm... that was interesting. Something dug up in the wee hours of the
morning. I listen to too much music! I hope someone out there thinks
this was worth writing! Comments and Flames alike accepted (as well as
Visa and Master Card). Well, goodnight out there (or morning, or
afternoon, or whenever you're reading this) to all, I shall be signing
off for now.
