AARRRGGGHHH!! I tried to keep this private, but what the hell! That is wrong!
Just wrong... there are two ways. Either way is right. It all depends on the
way you were thought japanese. English speakers uses "ou" just for
pronunciation purposes. If you were though in japan, or had a japanese
teacher, "I mean, a teacher from japan" they will tell you the hiragana is
"O". My japanese instructor used to argue with college proffesors about this.
I take it that they are both right. Teh instructors teach this to help the
english speaker get used to it. When I was relearning japanese, my sensei had
told me to forget everything I know about the english language. When I come
across words like Chotto... most people will pronounce it "cho-toe" which is
somewhat wrong. Other characters would be the hiragana "he" pronounced not
like he, but like "heh" Just don't say one way is wrong, becuase that really
ticks me off!
