I'm pissed at the spelling of stuff, I don't mind Ryouga-Ryoga or that,
but I do mind the Jusenkyo-Jyusekyou-Jyuusennkyoou and that garbage,
also
Nannichuan-Nanniichuann-Nanniichuan-Naniichuan etc. spelling is
annoying.
Is there ANY correct spelling for this stuff?
Of course not, because they are transliterations of characters that are
completely alien to the latin alphabet. I know very little Japanese,
but we used to run into the same problem with Russian. Some things can
be transliterated a number of ways. Personally, I prefer the simply
transliterations because the jumble of letters that Jyuusennkyoou or
something like that ends up being is very difficult to read. There is a
reason for it, though, as the double letters and stuff indicate a
slightly different sound in Japanese (long vowels vs. short, in most
cases), but since an English reading is only going to be approximate
anyways, I'd rather have a word I can make sense of.
