GT- says....First of all, I'd like to thank everyone thats supported the
Panel for FFIRC. Last week had a record attendance of people I'm happy
to say, and the ideas and fic's just flowed smoothly. Thanks to Mr.
Kleppe and Lara, and Tempest for helping it to run smoothly. From what
I've been told from the long timers of the list and Terratron, this is
not the first time something like this has been attempted, but I'm
convinced with as much feedback as we've gotten that this will continue
in a positive direction.
Okay. Now for the fromat changing stuff. Next Sunday, in addition to and
after the Round-Table(as its been dubbed), and the Topic Circle, we will
begin exclusive reviews of a designated fiction predetermined by order
recieved. Right now, because we haven't really made that known, it will
be primarily our fics.
TJ--(How do you decide which one to do and which one not to do?)
GT---. . . lemme make it clear that everyone who asks WILL BE
acknowledged. There will be no favouritism here and the order is decided
on a first come first serve basis.
TJ--(How predetermined?)
GT---At least a week in advance. Our reviewers will be given a week to
read the fic(s) in order to review it that Sunday. The order is taken by
myself which I like to call the 'Que.' The channel panel will be opened
about an hour earlier, making it 3pm EST or 1400est for international.
The reviews will begin after the Topic Circle, which I'll try to make
around 6:30.
TJ---(how do we get these fics?)
GT---. . .dope. you slave off my isp.
TJ---(well, how will they?)
GT---Thats the part of the format change. For the reviews, we will close
the doors so that we may concentrate 100% on the fiction at hand. Those
who are not a member of our mailing list will not know what fics are
coming up, and will be a distraction. Which is a point PhoneyNT made a
while ago, that there might even be a need for two rooms, but that is
for another time. I'm just announcing what we're doing in one channel.
TJ---(Great. Another list means more spam.)
GT---NO! No spam. This list is ONLY for distribution of these fics.
Nothing else will be posted through it except announcements for the
channel.
TJ---(Real good for the irc literate.)
GT---If you don't know IRC we'll show you. Or if you don't want to go to
the trouble, send us the fic anyways and we'll bombard you with C&C
email the next couple of days. Also available will be direct logs of
what transpired in the channel regarding your work. All available upon
request.
TJ---(Okay, smart guy. How do we get to be a part of this grand scheme?)
GT---You mooch off my account. Or you send me or Damon Casale your email
address with a tag in the header.
TJ--(what if they don't want to be on the list, but they want a review
anyways?)
GT---I'll do that as well. Send your fics to me at this addy with a
[FFIRC] tag in the subject. We will get to the fics in the order
recieved. Add this little form to the front of it using you're cut and
paste and fill it out while you're at it. . .kay?
