Episode 1: Arrival Blues and Jazz

Kasumi Tendo giggled as she took the lunch dishes and Dr. Tofu
Ono into the kitchen. Akane Tendo looked at them with a wistful
expression. She, like her eldest sister Kasumi, had once had a crush
on the handsome doctor. But where hers had faded, Kasumi's
blossomed until she became his "Forever Slave" [1].

Kasumi slipped off her lover's trousers, sitting him in the seat that
she specially adjusted for dishwashing. Bending over, her hand and
mouth soon brought his erection to its full length. She turned around
and, lifting her skirt, lowered herself onto him. They slowly moved
together as she started to wash the dishes.

Akane walked out of the back door of Dr. Tofu's Clinic and Sexual
Tension Relief Center into the small rock garden between the two
buildings. She had fallen out of love with Dr. Tofu because she
somehow knew that there was another man for her. She was certain
of it, though she didn't know how she knew.

Akane was going to straighten up her room one last time, since her
roommate was due to arrive that afternoon. But she was feeling a
little melancholy, and wanted some time to relax and be by herself.

Akane entered the empty apartment complex that had become her
home and walked downstairs to the basement. She stepped out of her
clothes and quickly showered in the small alcove under the stairs,
then entered the shallow pool while still nude. The pool stretched the
length and width of the apartment house and clinic, and the
numerous support columns made it seem more private than a normal
swimming pool.

Akane couldn't swim very well, but the water was only 4' deep, so she
could stand if she had to. Akane made her way to one of the support
columns and pulled herself onto the small ledge that ringed it
halfway to the bottom. The concrete felt cold to her skin, but she
closed her eyes and let her mind drift.

At nineteen, she was a free girl. Four months earlier, she and her
sisters had been disowned by their father for refusing to be engaged to
Tatewaki Kuno. There had been a big fight just before New Year's,
which led to the triplets storming out of the family dojo. Their
mother, unable to abandon her daughters as easily as her husband,
told them to go to the clinic. But, unable to change Soun's mind, she
had to limit her help to sending them their things and a small
allowance she had been able to save from her housekeeping duties.

The three girls understood. They still loved their mother without
reservation. They loved their father. But all three had grown up with
Kuno, and none of them liked him. Dr. Tofu had let them stay in the
clinic's ward at first, but the clinic also needed those beds for those
who had to stay overnight. And then there was that time Kuno got
deliberately sick...

But Dr. Tofu came to the rescue again. Since he also owned the run-
down apartment house adjacent to the clinic, he let Nabiki fix it up
for student housing, leaving her in charge of everything since he was
too busy with the clinic (and later, Kasumi) to do anything with it
himself.

Kimiko: Akane? Are you down there?
Akane: Yes, mom.

Akane opened her eyes and made her way to the shallow step-alcove
in the pool where she had entered the water. Her mother appeared in
the doorway and gently smiled at her daughter, taking a minute to
undress herself as well. After a quick shower, she stepped into the
water and sat next to her daughter.

Kimiko: I just saw Kasumi and Dr. Tofu. Isn't their lovemaking
	beautiful?

Akane blushed, recalling what her sister was enthusiastically doing
when she left her. Kimiko Tendo smiled and hugged her daughter.

Kimiko: Akane, there's nothing to be ashamed of. Sex is a
wonderful experience with someone you love.
Akane: How's daddy?
Kimiko: Your father is fine, but I can't get him to change his mind
	about the three of you.
Akane: Its okay, mom. I'll be okay.
Kimiko: I know you will, dear. I raised you, remember?

The two laughed softly together.

Kimiko: Now, where's your other sister?
Akane: Nabiki went to get some last-minute supplies before she
picked up some of the new tenants at the train station.
Kimiko: I suppose I can talk to her when she comes back. But,
Akane, I want you to promise me that before you make love
to a man that you're sure that you love him.
Akane: Mom...
Kimiko: And then after you've fucked him dry I want you to call me
up so I can meet him.
Akane: Mom!

The two laughed out loud. Kimiko stood up and led her daughter out
of the pool. Akane didn't feel lonely anymore. Kimiko held out her
pinkie for Akane.

Kimiko: Promise?
Akane: I promise.

Nabiki Tendo adjusted her sunglasses. Three of her tenants were due
to arrive by train within the next hour and another five were to show
up at the apartment house by the end of the afternoon. She was a
little nervous.

Nabiki waited on one of the station benches and calmed herself. She
was the one that was supposed to be the most business-savvy of the
Tendo triplets. Her elder sister Kasumi was the perfect housewife,
except, of course, for her sex drive. Her younger sister Akane was
the tomboy, interested in martial arts. But she was the one that was
supposed to be the most worldly in terms of money and material
goods.

But she was still nervous. She was the one that was responsible for
the success (or failure) of the apartments as a business venture.
Nabiki willed the nervousness from her mind. She had done all she
could to ensure success. Worrying about things out of her control
was a waste of time. Time was money. So worrying was a waste of
money as well.

One of the trains she was waiting for pulled into the station. Nabiki
looked down at her signs and picked out the ones labeled "Madoka"
and "Hikaru".

Ranko Saotome was fighting her twin brother Ranma through the
streets of Nerima.

Actually, they were checking out the area around their apartment and
college. They were sparring with each other because they enjoyed it.
They left their house a week before for a small training trip, and had
arrived in Nerima a day ahead of schedule.

They wandered around the campus of Jukyukara University. Though
it was still a week before the start of the semester, there were a
number of students around. Ranma was ogled by the passers-by.

Ranma was unnerved by this, in spite of the fact that it had happened
to him his whole life. On the one hand, it was flattering because
women obviously found him attractive. On the other hand, he knew
that it was all they saw in him. He had enough of it to want
something more.

He figured that what he was going through was what women went
through before the virus [2] - appreciated and judged only on his
physical body. He hated it. He didn't want to be a "Fuck Toy", he
wanted to be a "Love Slut" [1].

He had a lot of offers over the years, but Ranma found that he
couldn't make himself have sex with someone he didn't care about.
And being on training trips meant that he never let himself get to
know girls because he didn't want to hurt them when he inevitably
left. He wasn't a virgin though - his mother, insisting that the
"manliest of men" knew how to please women, had taken him to the
pleasure districts.

And, of course, there was Ranko, who loved it. Girls who had
brothers were considered lucky; most lost their virginity to their
siblings. What may have once been taboo was now accepted, even
encouraged. The only thing that was still forbidden was having
children with them, and that was for genetic reasons only.

When the community drastically changes, the community values
change as well. And the values of the pre-virus world had been
abandoned in simple practicality.

Ranko kicked him in the head.

Nabiki held the two signs high above her head. Eventually, as the
crowd thinned out, two girls made their way to her. Both were
dressed casually and both had long hair, though one was black and
the other light brown.

Nabiki: Hi! I'm the manager, Nabiki Tendo.
Madoka: Madoka Ayukawa.
Hikaru: Hikaru Hiyama.
Nabiki: There's another train arriving in fifteen minutes with a
tenant from Kyoto. I can give you directions to the
apartment if you don't wish to wait.
Madoka: That's okay. There's no rush.
Hikaru: Excuse me, but aren't you a little young to be a manager?
	Do you mind my asking...
Nabiki: Not at all. I'm nineteen, like you two. I'll be majoring in
	Business.
Hikaru: Could you tell us about the apartment while we're waiting?
Nabiki: Hmmm. Not much to tell, really. We're located about five
	blocks from the college..."

Keiichi Morisato looked at the shattered remains of the temple that
he had called home for the past year. The living room was still
undamaged, and they had stayed there while he frantically searched
for someplace new to stay. It had been difficult, but he had finally
found a place with enough room.

The temple had been destroyed by the Lord of Terror. The three
goddesses that lived with him had managed to return Keiichi to his
original body, though the transformation had been painful (more
likely due to having to drink several of Urd's potions than the change
itself). Keiichi found that he was already missing the changes the
Lord of Terror had made while he was possessed.

It was pathetic, he knew. But he missed being taller and skinnier
than his real body. Keiichi could sense the different attitudes of
strangers, especially women, towards the new body. And now, being
shorter than most women again had returned him to almost being
invisible in their eyes.

Belldandy preferred him as he was, though. And she told him that
she was staying on Earth because she loved him.

Belldandy came up from behind and hugged him around the waist.
Keiichi could feel her breasts flatten against his back. For a moment
he wanted nothing more than to pin her against the wall and take his
pleasure of her.

The moment passed as it always did. The truth was, he was scared.
Scared that once he had told her that he was in love with her, that he
had made his own emotional commitment to her, that she would be
recalled back to Heaven. And so his freshman year had passed with
nothing between them.

Belldandy: Its hard to say good-bye to an old friend.

Keiichi was confused. Was Belldandy talking about the house or was
it some kind of omen?

Belldandy: Still, sometimes its best to move on to something new.
You thank those you leave for their hospitality and
	remember them with love.

Keiichi found that his voice didn't quite work. Belldandy gave a
wistful last look at the temple over his shoulder and let go of her
embrace. Keiichi watched as she sat in the sidecar and waited for
him. Belldandy hadn't mentioned that she thought it would be nice if
she and Keiichi could one day come back and make love in the place
that they had lived together. But by moving to someplace new maybe
the two of them would find it within them to make that wish possible.

Belldandy was a goddess, but she was also a woman. While her
aging was vastly slower than a mortal's, Keiichi was still a mortal.
And while she had never been intimate, never felt the need to be
intimate with a man the way mortals did, Belldandy also knew that
she and Keiichi could waste their time away, time that later in their
lives they would look back and say "why didn't we do this then".

She had always felt, as her elder sister Urd did, that lovemaking was
a natural part of a relationship. Not necessarily the first part or the
only part, but neither was it to be avoided when they felt that the time
was right to take that step.

Keiichi made sure the last of their boxes were securely tied in the
storage compartment in the sidecar, and the two of them left to join
Megumi, Urd, and Skuld at their new home.
