One question I have often wondered about in this type of 
fic is, did Ranma (or other cursed individual) really get 
the spirit of the Drowned Girl ( or appropriate curse) or 
did he get a copy of the mind and memories of the drowned 
girl?
 If he has the spirit then anyone else who fals into the 
pool either won't be cursed or would only get the form. 
however that means he has two sould in one body and means 
either one of them has to go or trouble will result. Or 
perhaps they would merge and a new soul not either of the 
originals would appear.
 If he has a copy of her mind and memories then everybody 
who falls in would get a copy as well. Eventually the 
differnet copies would begin to act differently from each 
other and from the original. Since each would have a 
different soul.

The best answer to this is that it resides in the purview of the 
fanfic author. 

I can name four distinct views on this phenomenon, in four different 
fics:

Onna: Red Side (by myself)
Twilight Existence (by SKJAM!)
The Song of the Phoenix (by Zephyr)
Pools of Horror (by Gary Kleppe (wasn't it?))

These fics basically represent four different versions of what would 
happen if the Nyanniichuan did trap the soul of the drowned girl and 
Ranma released it.
