Subject: Fic requests, author requests, any kind of request

On the author request thread, I have a few questions... What if you
remember what the fic was about but not the title nor the author? And
what if someone did get an author's email from their fic and it wasn't
valid anymore? (Btw, authors, you really should put your email addy
either at the beginning or at the end of your fic. When you send it to an
archive like raac, all headers are stripped so your email addy is gone
unless you actually stick it in the fic itself. C&C is pretty hard to send
out if you don't know where to send it to.) Reasonably, it should be okkay
to ask for information about something or someone if you already tried to
find out and couldn't find it.

Anyway, general requests to the ML of any kind should be a last resort,
not a first one. As has been suggested, there are resources out there you
can consult like the FFML FAQ (which has been split into two files
apparently. Where's the Resources Guide, Panda? and when are you going to
answer your email???), the Weekly Synopses list and now Lara's Fic/Author
list.

Just my $.02. =^.^=
