Umm, I know I'm butting in here where I probably shouldn't be, but what
if someone made a list whose only business was fic and info requests?
Someone or some list to ask so that they didn't spam the whole FFML, and
someone who could devote enough time to looking for it so that they might
find it . . . .
I don't know much about maintaining lists, and I am very new here, but
that seems to me to be an equitable solution to the problem at hand . . .
The problem being that maintaining a list whose sole purpose is this is
going to be a royal $%&# to maintain. Here's why:
<subscribe>
"Who wrote Bubblegum Warners, and where can I find it?"
<twiddle thumbs while someone replies>
"Saf, and her email is sapphire@uclink.berkeley.edu".
"Cool!"
<unsubscribe>
The maintainer would go nuts in a week. @_@
BTW Saf, are you ever going to finish that? ;)
A better solution would be to maintain a web site with said fic
information. It wouldn't be as "bulky" to maintain as a site with the
actual fics. Those of you unfortunate enough to be without web access
could ask someone with access to look up the information for you.
Volunteers, anyone? :) (Yes, you'd have to be nuts to volunteer, but
hey, don't let that stop you... *grin*)
<shrugs> Sorry for sticking my nose in.
Not at all. OTOH, feel free to post fic and info requests on the spam
list. It's there as a catch-all for "Things-That-Aren't-Allowed" (TM) on
the FFML. :) (other than flames, but you knew that, right? ;)
The request address is ffml-d-request@universal-net.com. Put "subscribe
ffml-d" in the body. In case anyone's interested. :)
