The one type of letter I ReALLY hate is the Yeah but 
(insert fanfic author name) wrote a story using the same 
idea first. In most cases the WAY the idea is developed 
makes it a different story, I believe Mark Twain once said 
"There are only seven basic plots in all fiction" and all 
stories are developed from them. 

1. Sometimes this is a great story Is the only thiing you 
can say there just isn't anything wrong with the the story 
to criticise.

2. Other times the only thing wrong is in the spelling and 
grammar though you should say this is the only thing I 
didn't like about your story.

3. The best tyype of fan letter tells what is right and 
what is wrong and why the writer thinks it is so.
 
4. It is nice to get some comments, even if they are only I 
didn't like your story. It is better if they say why 
especially if the reason is one that can be changed. EG. 
Your story stinks and so do you for writing it while better 
than nothing isn't much better.
