The only comment that got my goat was the obviouse choice for a long and
happy marriage. I speak from personal experience that people who have a
rivalry tend to stay together indefinately. We respect each other and
tend to fight much less do to it. Like I said me and my wife fought and
argued with each other for over a year. Until by some fluke we actually
got to know each other and found out that we made a digustingly cute
couple. Now we never fight. We understand each other so well that even
when we disagree it's okay.
I know what yout're saying, a rivalry in a marriage is kinda like . . . adds
more spice to the marriage to keep things from getting dull if controlled
with experty :)
But, that wasn't my only reason in saying that Akane don't work out for Ranma.
Akane's dreams are of being a good housewife (even though her domestic
skills aren't nothing to talk about, that's still her wish). She longs for
the stablity of being settled down in a more or less traditional married life.
Ranma also longs for stability . . . periodically. But he DEFINITELY
prefers being a warrior and roaming the world for adventures than to simply
life out his life peacefully in one place. The married home life can be a
vacation spot for him, but his real dreams lies elsewhere.
Ukyou would have no problem in travelling with him to his adventures, since
that's how she spent most of her life too (see manga 15 for her fantasy of
travelling in the snow with Ranma)
Shampoo would have understood the way of the warrior, and she will
DEFINITELY be thrilled to live an adventurous life with Ranma. The only
thing that keeps her from being the best choice was her tendencey to try
enslaving Ranma against his will. Shall she be more . . . civil in her
pursuit, Ranma will DEFINITELY chose her over the others.
As for Kodachi, she's rich, and easily the MOST beautiful girl of the series
. . . but her personality left A LOT to be straigthened out. But she's
redeemable, I think.
