in the first one, and was kinda evil.  Oh well, can't win 'em all.
Besides, it's not like "Tsubasa the God!" was a SERIOUS chapter...

Oh well, enough ego-stroking.  At least I'm not a bad offended, CW...

techniques as a bait to get Ranma to marry Shampoo (not even the

trick that Ranma desperately needed at the time); nor had she ever

attempt to hurt Akane (even in the Shark-fist Chapter, she threw 

Ranma and

Akane both out the water so that Akane won't get caught up in the 

match);

nor had she ever been mean to Mousse (read ALL manga episodes).
        So to all those writers using Cologne as a evil character 

without

stating that it is OFC, I would like to ask WHY do they do what they 

do with

Cologne.

That's easy.  She's convenient.  She is capable of any conceivable
feat if she feels like it, and she's an established character.  In
the series, after the initial Cat's Tongue point story, her input
was actually pretty helpful (in fact she replaced Dr Tofu in his 
role as resident sage).  But assuming she goes nuts, or loses her
temper, or for some reason simply becomes desperate, she is clearly
the most potentially dangerous established character.  

I wouldn't use her that way.  If I wanted a real villain, I'd invent 
one.  But I can easily see why people do use her as a villain.

There's plenty of 'real' Ranma villains, though.  Pantyhose Tarou,
Kumon Ryuu, Herb and his Musk Dynasty, Pink and Link, Saffron and the
Phoenix Tribe...pity all the good villains are still a way off for
the english releases.

My personal fanfiction pet peeves for Ranma

Having Nabiki actually blackmailing people, or insisting on
payment from her own family for advice and other trivial assistances.  

She's done both in the manga.  In fact, Nabiki's never shown a single
hint of compassion or caring for anything besides money in the manga,
to the best of my knowledge.

Akane's hammer.  I've only seen it once in all the Ranma stuff
I have, so why do I have to see it in so much fanfiction?  It just 
isn't that funny written down anyway.  There's a reason why anvil
gags are more common in visual than written humour. 

Your second point is true, but the hammer IS a very common visual 
sight gag in from mid-Ranma onwards.  You saw it for almsot the first
time (excluding Kodachi) in the latest Viz issue...get prepared to see
it MUCH more often as time goes by.

Alternate historys that simply repeat the events of the first
few episodes unchanged except for different people plugged into
the roles, even when it's obvious that things would not have 
turned out that way after the alterations.

Well, that would be bad writing, unless it's made plausible.  Hard to
do, true, with the volatile personalities of the Ranma cast...
