  Any lawyers out there?  Is 2nd degree assault classified as felonious
assault?  What about battery and assault with a deadly weapon as additional
charges?  What about additional assault charges from his roughing up the
woman?  Was he driving while drunk?  Remember that you can also file a
civil suit for damages against him.   

  I've spent time in hospitals.  I don't know how much longer you'll be in,
but try to find someone interesting among the other patients on your floor
to talk with.  I've met some unusual individuals during my stays.  As far
as what passes for hospital food, find out what your family is allowed to
bring you.  This might require doctor's permission.  How do you have
computer access?  Is it by your personal machine or are you using a
hospital computer?
