I have to admit, I haven't seen much of Ukyou in action, after the
initial appearances. I'm posting my reasoning to the ML for comments.

The promise... he'd almost forgotten. With a reluctant nod,
he stepped aside, moving to kneel next to Ukyou. "Ucchan..." he
murmured. It seemed she would open her eyes, but they remained
closed.

The other man spoke to his partner in the same low tone,
unintentionally echoing Ranma. "Ayukawa..."

Was the fight related to the fact that their voices are so similar? BTW,
Ranma was right, Ukyou should have won. I presume the fact that she lost
will be related to the strange happenings in the neighborhood.

That depends...

KOR's martial arts are more realistic in scale than Ranma 1/2's.
However, since everything in this fanfic takes place in the same
world, they're going to be scaled. (It's closer to the KOR world than
the Ranma one--so the Ranma crew is toned down a bit.)

With that in mind, consider some of their characteristics.

Ukyou has the edge in sheer power and intensity of training. Her
style is especially suited to defense. She relies heavily on weapons,
but with her spatula, she has a reach and (greater) power advantage
over Madoka. She's also got a number of dirty tricks up her sleeve.
(Flour bombs, gunpowder tempura, etc.) At range, her throwing
spatulas are more damaging than Madoka's picks.

OTOH, Madoka's style is more versatile, balanced between attack and
defense, and she's not nearly as reliant on weapons. Unarmed, she has
a greater reach. She also has comparable speed and much greater
agility. (She was able to battle while skating down the skeleton of a
building under construction... in the snow and ice.) At range, she
has better accuracy with her picks than Ukyou has with the spatulas.
Finally, at the time of the fanfic, Madoka has greater experience
fighting in a range of situations. She also has less of a tendency to
underestimate an enemy than Ukyou does, and has better control of her
temper (or, at least, is less likely to be goaded into an attack).

(Madoka is taken from near the end of the KOR manga; Ukyou is taken
from shortly after her appearance in Ranma.)

As I see it, Ukyou has the advantage while she has her spatula; but if
Madoka disarms her, the fight becomes much more even.

(Incidentally, I place Hikaru and Yusaku somewhere between Akane and
Tatewaki in terms of skill, Madoka near Shampoo and Ukyou, and Tenchi
at about Mousse's level, as long as he's using a sword.)

I'm not acquainted with Moldiver, but I don't understand why there would
be such a multiple crossover. Feel free to write more.

Moldiver takes place in the future; around 2050, IIRC. Everything
else takes place about 60 years earlier, as I have it.
