For all those who asked,
This is just a sampler of the story I would like to write. Ideas
and suggestions are appreciated. This is also my first fanfic attempt.
Ranma 1/2 and related characters are copyright of Rumiko

A Stitch in Time excerpt
Masaru deftly moved the needle through the cloth, and as he did
so, he scored blow after blow on Ranma. Disoriented, Ranma tried to get an
attack in, but the quick hands moving through the cloth provided a tight
defense. As he tried to penetrate his opponent's iron defense, he failed
to notice that Masaru was beginning to glow the familiar glow of one whose
battle aura was increasing. The aura became more apparent as Masaru
shouted, "HALF STITCH LIGHTNING!!!!!!!"
Suddenly the speed with which he was striking Ranma doubled, and
Ranma found himself hit as if by a thousand needles. The world went black,
and Ranma fell to the ground, unconscious.
Masaru stood silently over his prostrate opponent. Carefully and
deliberately, he slide the needle and thread into a final square. He then
held up the sheet of cloth for everyone to see.
"Behold," he spoke in a low tone. "My opponent's defeat
immortalized in thread."
On the sheet of Aida cloth was a full color pattern of Masaru
standing triumphantly over an unconscious Ranma, complete with a ring of
stars around Ranma's head. The design was so lifelike that it drew ooh's
and ahh's from the crowd.
"Wow, he had time to switch threads in mid-battle!"
"Look at the neatness of the stitches."
"Ranma never knew what hit him."
"Serves the pervert right."
"What about Akane?"
Heads turned to glance at Ranma's fiance. Akane gulped. What would
happen now? It was then that she felt familiar hands on her shoulders. She
scowled.
"Kuno."
"Ah, my dear Akane. The villainous sorceror Saotome has fallen."
Strong emotion was apparent in Kuno's voice. "I never thought that I'd see
this day. With his defeat, he is unworthy of being your fiance!!!! Let us
date!!!!"
""Uhm-hmmmm."
The loud cough called everyone's attention back to Masaru. Kuno
looked irritated.
"What is it?" he asked.
"I am Masaru Ikenji, and Akane Tendo is mine, by virtue of my
beating Ranma Saotome."
"You dare challenge the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High?!!!!"
Streaks of lightning raced across the sky and the thunder boomed at his
voice.
---------------------------
Well, that's all I've come up with at this point. I'll continue writing it
when I can.
Need help:
1. What would be an appropriate name for a guy who cross stitches and does
martial arts?
2. Would it be better if the cross stitcher-martial artist was a girl?
3. What would be a good situation to introduce this character?
Thanks in advance for the C&C.
