It casts Ranma as Luke Skywalker, Ryouga as Han Solo, Akane as
Princess Leia, and oddly enough Nabiki as Jabba the Hutt. It's

Ranma should be Ran Solo, and Ryoga should be Ryoga Lostwalker.  That 

way,

Akane ends up with Ranma.

That was total miscasting.

Oh, and I couldn't agree more about the miscasting.  But then it's not
really surprising, considering that it's a Blade/Epsilon story.  I'm 

not

bashing them -- I enjoy their writing, and I think it was an
entertaining, well-written story, but Blade makes it no secret that he
absolutely despises Ranma.  He has told me that he does try to treat

Nor do I make any secret the reasons why; but that's not really on-topic 
for here...

Ranma fairly in his fics, but his prejudice shows up in his writing
whether he wants it to or not, and it seems to me that poor Ranma gets
the short end of the stick in almost all his fics.

No more than in the series.  And actually, I had very little input on 
the plot or casting of Ran Wars; Epsilon is the big Star Wars fan, not 
me.  And since HE doesn't hate Ranma, you can hardly blame anything in 
there (not that I think there's much that makes him look bad...) on me, 
or on bias of any sort.

Although I do enjoy stories that explore alternate themes and pairings
in the Ranma universe, the Ranma/Akane romance is my favorite factor
(which should be obvious from my own fic, Hearts of Ice  ^_^  Hey, was
that a smooth bit of self-promotion or what?).  So, needless to say,
though I did enjoy Blade & Epsilon's story, I like your idea better. 
^_^

Well, as I've said before, if the worst thing anyone can say is that 
they wanted Akane and Ranma to get together, then I consider it a 
triumph.  ^_^
