Well, actually, I am very new to this ML (Two days ^_^),
and very new to FanFic writing also. This is my first
story. Just my luck...my first idea to write a story,
and it just _has_ to turn into a series. Oh well.

Since this is just a little bit of the story (I started
writing this a month or so ago, but went through a LOT
of writers block, and then went to AX97 *YAY!*, so this
is all I've gotten to write), I guess I should explain
the premise a little. I think that a major theme in Ranma
1/2 is that all the characters are searching for something
for themselves, and, more often than not, its love. So I
guess, this series will just be a bunch of one-shots self
entitled for the character they highlight.I started with Nabiki
because.....um...actually, I don't know why. *grin* Basically,
this one will just be a Nabiki retrospective-type story.
You know, the usual "Who am I? Why am I here? etc, etc.." type
story. I know this has been done, and re-done, but I wanted to
do it anyways, so THERE! :) Oh, and this peice so far basically
has none of the "deep" stuff I think I am going for, so, what you
see here, definately wont be what you'll see when I finish this
dang thing...

Here we go...C&C welcome! Actually, needed! Badly..:)

Nabiki
A Ranma 1/2 Fanfic by Christina Woog

Nabiki Tendo casually leaned out a window of Furinkan High and watched.
There wasnt much to do after school except for walk home-- *Alone* Her
mind wandered as she looked over the couples lounging around the campus,
laughing and talking. She just shook her head, as if to rid herself of
her thoughts and shrugged all feelings aside. She gave a parting glance
to the Tokyo skyline, and started on her journey home.
                          ~*~
Walking through the stone gates of Furinkan, Nabiki smiled as she
looked back on the days events. It had been one of her more profitable
days, and certainly Ranmas daily gender-changing hijinks were very
amusing, as always. And of course, dealing with Kuno-baby always made
for an interesting school day.

During study hall, Nabiki had lounged at her desk, filing her nails,
while Kuno gazed lovingly at an array of photographs she had placed in
front of him.

Kuno honey, just pick one and get it over with. I cant sit here and
wait all day you know. Nabiki stopped filing her nails long enough to
throw him and exasperated glance. Just pick one, and pay up! She
didnt like to raise her voice at him (or any of her other customers for
that matter), but sometimes, waiting for Kuno to make up his mind was
just so infuriating. He, like all other men Nabiki had encountered in
her life, seemed to have a horrible time being decisive. Watching Kuno
practically drool over the photos she had taken was too much. *Men. So
pradicatable. Somehow, you always know what they are going to--*
Nabikis thought was cut off by Kuno, who stood up sharply, practically
sending her flying backwards.

Oh, but they are such visions of lovelyness! I should have them all!!
He snatched up two of the photos and looked at them intently. Surely,
you are quite a lucky girl to be associated with goddesses such as
these! Nabiki could only roll her eyes. The pictures Kuno held were as
usual, pictures of his beloved Pig-tailed Girl and her younger sister
Akane.

Yeah, yeah Kuno-baby. Make a decision already! She was immensly
bored, and wanted him to shut up, pay up and move along. Granted, Nabiki
liked to think that she had all the patience in the world- especially
for when it came to business. But of course, Nabiki thought with a roll
of her eyes, it took him the whole entire study period to conclude that
all the pictures were far, far too lovely to favor one over the other
so he bought them all. And at 2000 yen a peice, too. Nabiki smiled to
think of all the money in her wallet, and reminded herself to be sure to
put another roll of film in her camera.

Then, a blur of red and black rushed past Nabiki, who stopped to
observe the boy running at top speed down the sidewalk. Nabiki shook her
head and smirked as she looked over her shoulder at the dark haired girl
who inevitably would be following close behind.

RANMA!! Why you litt- Akanes threats were cut short as she
ungracefully dived head-first into the pavement. Nabiki covered her
mouth to stifle a laugh. Now, Akane was sprawled face-first, twitching
at Nabikis feet. Akane grunted as she peeled herself from the pavement
and stuggled to stand up to face Nabiki accusingly, who in turn shot a
look of innocence back. Nabiki took that moment to let her thoughts
wander as she looked at her younger sibling. She had dark hair, cropped
short, dark brown eyes and she had a healthy glow about her from
running. All in all, Nabiki thought Akane wasnt anything special, just
pretty average looking. She has almost no class, she is a total tomboy,
and has a major temper. As undesirable as you can get, maybe. she
thought.

If there was one thing Nabiki could not understand about boys, it was
their obvious attraction to her sister. There was a time when Nabiki
would just stare out her classroom window and watch Akane fend off all
of the boys that wanted a date with her. Fight, after fight, after
fight.Every morning like clockwork, there they were, trying to win the
supposedly Lovely Akane Tendo. She couldnt help but feel a little
twinge of jealousy when she thought back to those mornings. It was a
feeling that she didnt quite welcome, so she just shook her head again
and smirked at her sister.

	Chasing Ranma again, eh Akane?

Akane fumed. Nabiki! You know its not like that! He just...I mean, I
just...well...he... Akane blushed bright red and stammered, trying to
explain. He just got me mad like he always does! Akane glared at the
direction in which Ranma ran off to. Sure, Akane. Whatever. Nabiki
grinned at her and turned to walk away.

Nabiki? Um...Ranma and I were going to the ice cream parlor on the way
home... She glanced down the street in the direction he had run off to,
But since he ran off....do you wanna go with me?

Nabiki was a little suspicious- she always was when anyone invited her
anywhere. She just wasnt used to going anywhere just to hang out
so-to-speak. People usually had a favor to ask of her. So of course, how
she responded was only natural. She raised an eyebrow and asked bluntly,
What for?

Akane looked a little taken aback, but then grinned and yanked on her
older sisters arm. Oneechan! It would be fun! We never really get to
talk or do anything together anyhow. Please??

No, I dont think so. Not today.

	My treat!

	Well, since you insist....

Well, thats it. Not much here. Oh well. More later, depending on
the response I get, I guess. Thanks!
