Oh, and I couldn't agree more about the miscasting. But then it's not
really surprising, considering that it's a Blade/Epsilon story. I'm not
bashing them -- I enjoy their writing, and I think it was an
entertaining, well-written story, but Blade makes it no secret that he
absolutely despises Ranma. He has told me that he does try to treat
Ranma fairly in his fics, but his prejudice shows up in his writing
whether he wants it to or not, and it seems to me that poor Ranma gets
the short end of the stick in almost all his fics.
Well, the Blade/Epsilon bias is true (which is the only thing that irks
me in the story, since I consider it a diservice to both Luke and Ranma),
but, really, having Ranma as Han Solo and Ryoga as Luke doesn't really
work, either. It might keep the relationship part straight,
but, really, Ranma makes a _much_ better Luke than Ryoga ever could.
Ryoga's character just ain't right - well, in my opinion, that is...
(which should be obvious from my own fic, Hearts of Ice ^_^ Hey, was
that a smooth bit of self-promotion or what?). So, needless to say,
Smooooth... <grin>
