IMHO, Ranma is too complicated to translate directly into Star Wars. But
Urusei Yatsura seems to work pretty well!

Shutaro Skymendo, heir to the greatest power in the galaxy...
Ataru Solobishi, reckless scoundrel of a space pilot...
Shinobacca, his super-strong first mate...
Princess Lum, hot-tempered space princess of the planet Oni-raan...
Onsen-Mark Kenobi, Shutaro's wise teacher...
C-Rei-PO and Ten-2-D2, the oh-so-cute tiger-striped droids...
the evil Emperor Cherry, served by his faithful sorceress Darth Sakura...
Benten Calrissian, baron administrator of the floating city Tomobiki...
Ran the Hutt, the crimelord who tries to capture Solobishi to get revenge on Lum....
and let's not forget the Stormtroopers... plus the little fish guys, who can
serve all the "little people" roles (Jawas, Ugnaughts and *shudder* Ewoks. Yub yub!).

Well, it's not perfect (like the Sakura/Shutaro connection... "No, Shutaro,
*I* am your school nurse!" - oh well), but I kinda like it. In fact, If I ever
have an extra few days to spare I might even develop it into a full-fledged
fic. But lucky you... it'll be a while :-)
