Shampoo isn't really stupid- she's determined to force herself upon
him. The Amazon law
dictates she must marry him, so she'll go full board to make sure he
has no choice BUT
to marry him- she knows he doesn't want a relationship, and that's why
she uses the spices
and other cheap tactics.

Now, Kodachi is the one too stupid to realize Ranma doesn't want
a relationship. She NEVER figured out about his curse-- just like 

Wrong-oh, mon ami.  Kodachi is perfectly aware of the fact that Ranma
doesn't love her, as shown in Volume 32.  If you ask me, she gets
more of a kick out of tormenting Ranma than anything else.  She's 
certainly a lot more intelligent than she sometimes makes out...

Ranma in the first two to three episodes, but after that became quite 
pathetic. I feel Takahashi dropped the ball there.

<shrug>  To each their own.  I like Kunou.

      Concerning Ukyou, I don't hate her as much, but she seems a

little the

same way. She thinks that Ranma loves her, but when in reality he

does not.

So, someone needs to slap her a few times and bring her back to

reality and

let her live her own life. If there's anyone to blame for her being

this way,

it's Genma. 

I already talked to this guy via e-mail, but just to make the point, it 
is almost entirely RANMA'S fault Ukyou is convinced he loves her, and if 
she deserves to be slapped, then fem-boy deserves a slow, painful death.

If I were Soun, I would have had Genma explain to the various
'fiancees'.. maybe

Explain what?  Aside from the fact the only other fiancee is Ukyou, they 
all know about Akane's engagement.

Genma would have gotten some of the violence he deserves! If I were
Nodoka,
when I found out, Genma would have been in a SERIOUS amount of trouble
for
lying to each of the fiancees in turn.

Except that Nodoka, being Nodoka, would probably love the idea of Ranma 
having a herem.  Hey, if using your cursed form to peek on girls is 
'manly', having a herem must make her little Ranma the greatest 
studmuffin around!  ^_^

If ANYONE has been taking advantage of the situation and being a
complete
inconsiderate clod, it's Genma. Anything Nabiki has done has never
really
come CLOSE to the hell Genma has given Ranma.

Yes, but Nabiki does it out of maliciousness and her own amusement, 
while Genma does it for self-interest.  Not that I'm arguing Genma's 
better or anything...
 

Speaking of Nabiki, she seems a bit too.. cold hearted.. in some Ranma
fanfics.

You can see throughout the series that she DOES care about Ranma
somewhat--
you'll note she doesn't want to break up the relationship between Akane
and Ranma,
even though THEY haven't noticed they care.

She does?  _I_ didn't notice this.  In fact, Nabiki doesn't seem to care 
about ANYTHING except for money and her own amusement.  She nearly broke 
up Akane and Ranma for that; she sold them out to Ukyou in Volume 
19...she doesn't even seem much to care about her family, let alone her 
family's relationships.  She sold her father to Ms. Hinako, she stuck 
Akane and Ranma with bills on her date with Kinnosuke, she couldn't 
really care less about Akane being in a coma and actually sold Ranma a 
fake cure...

Also, I state for the record that Akane has NEVER had a mallet 
except in a single OAV. This is a convention used in fanfics mainly,
and I'm not sure how it became canon.

You're wrong.  Mallets are used quite often in the Ranma manga, 
including and especially by Akane, but also by Ranma, Soun, Mme. St-Paul 
and various others.
