The other day, I was straightening up my room when I found a lone
five dollar bill lying under a rug. I picked up the piece of paper and
looked at it. As I looked at it, I wondered, <Where has this bill been?
Who's hands has it passed into before it landed into mine? It could have
once belonged the president, a murderer, a hero. It could have traveled
around the world. It has been places I have never visited, and never will.>
Of course, at this point, I went out and spent it, and didn't give it a
second thought until now.

I just started thinking about it again I suddenly came up with a
great idea for a fic or a series of fics. (Well, at least I thought it was
great.) The idea is simple: take a common ordinary object, like a ring or a
piece of yen, and have it pass down through various anime and manga, or
whatever. Each time it begins a new story or adventure. For example, it
could start out in Ranma 1/2, then move on to Tenchi, and so forth. This
could go a long way.

I would do it myself, but I really am too lazy and don't watch
enough anime or read enough manga to do something like this. Maybe another
author, or even a series of authors, each working with a different
adventure, could do this. Unless, of course, this has already been done. Oh
well. (I still think it's a cool idea. :-)
