Sorry, but that's a bit off-mark. Ryuu posed as Ranma himself. Thus,
when he met Mrs. Saotome, she believed that he really was her son.
That's why Ranma was -soooooo- pissed off by Ryuu. However, he -did-
adopt that personality in order to find the scroll of the Umisenken, a
deadly MA technique that could pair up with his Yamasenken. He thought
that, by pretending to be Ranma, someone from the Saotome family would
give him said scroll.
