Admittedly, I have a rather shameful reasoning behind the slightly
off characterization of Akane in this scene. The reason also applies
to the untranslated Japanese chapter titles...

I'm trying to fit as many bad puns and in-jokes into this story as
possible, just to see how well I can do it and if anyone can catch
them all. In the author's notes at the end of the story, I'll give a
total count of how many there were. To give you a little freebie
right now: almost all the untranslated titles are hidden jokes, and
the bit with Akane and the mallet in this chapter should be a
giveaway...

I don't think it's worth disrupting the story for the joke.
Besides...I've read too much fanfic.  I really hate that
mallet now.

It was pretty obvious to me that she was talking about Happousai
and her previous tormentors.  It doesn't matter though since
she has reason to be irrational.
