Why would it chase? That's silly. Let the Valkyrie come to EVA.
 

what valkyrie pilot would stand toe to toe with a 100m tall eva....just sit
in orbit and blow it to bits...or call in the macross :)

1) I'm pretty sure an Eva can evade missiles coming from orbit. 
2) If you call in the Macross, what the hell is the point?
